Will Disney Make An Animated Movie Set In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Head of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation John Lasseter talks here about how Big Hero 6 is solely a product of the latter and not Marvel Studios, whether we'll see an animated feature set in the MCU, and director Don Hall comments on how his movie compares to Guardians of the Galaxy...

Believe it or not, it's been five years since Disney bought Marvel for a whopping $4 billion! However, the one thing that many of us thought would happen hasn't, and that's a joint production between Marvel and Disney. Disney Animation's Big Hero 6 appeared to be a step in the right direction, but while it may be using Marvel characters, it's not exactly a Marvel movie! When asked by Vulture about whether there have been discussions of some sort of team up, John Lasseter revealed: "Not yet. No, we haven’t. If we went directly into the Marvel Universe, that would mean we’d work more directly with Marvel. Without question, it was made 100 percent here. They’d forgotten the books existed." Director Don Hall meanwhile believes that people will gravitate towards the quirky looking Big Hero 6 for the same reason that they did for Guardians of the Galaxy. "They do feel like distant cousins,” said Hall. “Guardians is a Marvel movie, but it’s sort of gone off on a different branch. It indicates that fans of superhero movies are willing to try new flavors. We don’t call it a superhero movie. We call it a super nerd movie."

Yeah, I'd rather Marvel sticks to sophisticated films made for adults like they currently are!
Lmao.

They said TEAMING UP with Marvel [Studios], not directly making a film set in the MCU.

This is another click bait article from @josh. I feel like this kind of article is written just to invite people to hate on the MCU. There's nothing here that would suggest that conclusion but yet your headline acts like it's more likely than not.

@ScottMontgomery
They said a few months ago Incredibles 2 is in developement (In fact a few plot rumors have already been floating around.)

Also, I'm surprised there hasn't been an article about Daniel Radcliffe meeting with Marvel, the news has been out for DAYS (I tried telling about it, but my comment wouldn't get through for some reason.)

This article has no credibility and is more of an editorial than actual news. There's nothing cited that suggests Disney wants to make an MCU film but next thing you know, Marvel haters will be citing this article as if it were fact when they probably didn't read the article at all. Today's trend of click bait reporting has killed journalism. Way to go @josh.
