Lionsgate's TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family--or so they thought. Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion's dank cellars...

Texas Chainsaw 3D is set to hit theatres on January 4, 2013.

still have a lot of questions/concerns about this one...like how does leatherface evade capture all this time? and I'm guessing the father and leatherface and the dead son (the one hit and run over by the semi) all go back to the house and as the plot suggests, gets surrounded and burnt in the house, how does leatherface survive or escape? and the house (as seen in the trailer) has obviously been rebuilt or rennovated, so how does anyone not notice or find leatherface hiding in the basement? most of all, wouldn't leatherface be in his late 50s or 60s today? anyway, lots to think about, and would love to hear other thoughts/opinions

@hope420...from the few things released about this movie so far, it's supposed to be a "direct sequel" to the 1974 film, so the TCSM2 doesn't exist in this storyline....which means a possible sequel to this one if it does well....but so far I'm not really getting a good vibe for this; like I said before, I think there are too many things that don't make sense....like is this leatherface the one from the original? and if so, that would make him 38 years older than what he was (putting him anywhere from 58-68 possibly) and where was he living all this time? I think the premise of him hiding in the basement of granny's house doesn't make sense at all, since the house has been obviously upgraded, if not rebuilt from the supposed fire. And what about the new character Heather? if she's inheriting the house from her "grandmother she never knew she had" then wouldn't that make leatherface her uncle? I don't have a lot of high hopes for this one, as I've seen both remakes in the theater and while they weren't as good as I hoped, they weren't that bad either. It was a good effort to make a origin story of leatherface---at least some things were explained. But this new one doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me so far. We're talking about a much older leatherface who somehow was able to elude law enforcement for nearly 40 years and stay hidden in a house that was basically a crime scene? which was rebuilt with leatherface living in the basement? See where I'm going?
