By now, you don't need us to tell you that Justice League went through some pretty massive changes when Joss Whedon replaced Zack Snyder as director and if there's one character who really got the short end of the stick, it appears to be Cyborg. Concept art, VFX reels, and storyboards have all pointed to him having a very different story arc in the movie, nearly all of which ended up being cut.
Now, Joe Morton - who played the character's father, Silas Stone - has revealed that he believes much of what was scrapped could actually be incorporated into that once confirmed but now rumoured Cyborg movie. "There was [more we shot]. They completely changed the story," he confirmed.
"Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what [the original story] is because that might end up being in part of the Cyborg movie. Yes, there was a big change once they decided that they were going to do the Cyborg film." Whether or not that solo outing is actually going to happen is another matter, especially as it was actually announced when the DC Films division was under some very different leadership.
For what it's worth, though, Morton remains convinced it's still happening. "I know there’s supposed to be a Cyborg movie they’re going to shoot in 2020. That’s all I know. I haven’t seen a script. I think the idea is to deal more with his family so you watch the evolution of him becoming Cyborg." He probably hasn't seen a script because one doesn't exist yet but I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
