There may have been plans for a Cyborg movie once upon a time but it's been clear for a while now that the movie isn't really a priority for Warner Bros. Fans didn't really gravitate towards the character in Justice League and director Zack Snyder's decision to make him an almost fully CGI creation means a solo outing would be massively expensive, something Ray Fisher believes could be the main issue.
Here's what the actor had to say about Cyborg's future at New Jersey's Heroes & Villains FanFest.
"I don't know. I can't comment on that specifically, because they don't tell me anything until the very last minute. There's a ton of people making those kind of decisions behind the scenes. And it would be a very, very costly movie to make because it is so CGI heavy with Cyborg, because I'm the only member of the League that's not in a practical costume. You're going to be looking at $200 million just to make it. So it's one of those things you have to take into consideration. It's a numbers game for some people at the end of the day."
A new Cyborg has been cast for DC Universe's Titans and Doom Patrol TV shows, while the company is also said to be looking for a different actor to take on the role of Silas Stone. As a result, it's easy to imagine Fisher's version of the hero falling by the wayside, especially as there's seemingly no longer any plans for Victor Stone to show up in The Flash now the film is no longer adapting "Flashpoint."
Fisher, however, is trying to stay positive. "If we keep making noise, it can happen. It's about what the people want. And that's what people understand, that's what they recognize," he concluded.
