Like it or not, but Ray Fisher is Cyborg and he has no plans to leave the role any time soon. In the past, we’ve had several rumors claiming the actor would step away from the DC role, and if he did, one could understand why.
But unlike Ben Affleck who has yet to confirm whether or not he’s staying as Batman, Ray Fisher came out to confirm that he’s Cyborg, and nothing is going to change that.
We’re happy he’s staying because he fits the character really well. The only major downside with Cyborg in the Justice League movie was the design, but overall, the actor did a splendid job with what he was given.
“I don't usually engage the rumor-mill, but it's recent turn may be worth a little grist: I am NOT, nor do I have ANY intention of, leaving Cyborg,” according to Fisher in a statement on Twitter. “Furthermore, if/when the time comes for me to hangup my all-too-revealing mocap onesie, you will hear it from me directly. #BORGLIFE”
Now, this statement doesn’t mean Ray Fisher could stay on as Cyborg for a long time. We have to bear in mind that originally, Warner Bros. and DC had planned to release a Cyborg solo movie in 2020, but nothing seem to be happening on that front.
Furthermore, there are no plans right now to follow-up on Justice League in the near future, which means, the Cyborg character is stuck in limbo for all we know.
As it stands right now, we might have to wait a long time before we see Cyborg again since the DC Cinematic Universe is slowly trying to rebuild. Everyone involved must be smart in deciding which movie gets made, and when it comes out to keep the general storyline synchronized in a way that is similar to Marvel.
