Superman, from his flight from Krypton to his arrival on Earth where he is discovered by his adoptive parents, the Kents. The story fast forwards to a high school football game after which adoptive father Jonathan Kent takes the now-teenaged Clark for a ride. By this time, Clark has developed most of, if not all, his powers as Superman. Jonathan reveals to Clark the truth that he (Clark) was never their biological son and that he was found from a crashed spaceship. The revelation causes Clark to decide to use his powers for the greater good. For the next few years during his studies in university, he has been saving lives and averting disasters in secret until an experimental space shuttle forces him to expose himself to the public. He meets Lois Lane for the first time and both felt a connection to each other but before they could react to it, a mob surrounds them. Clark is unable to deal with the sudden attention. In order to preserve Clark’s secret identity, Jonathan comes up with the idea of a superhero identity such as those used in the 1940s. Clark adopts a costume created by Martha and the name he was given in the news, Superman.

Many thanks to Wikipedia, link below.
All these picks keep in mind are for a new 'Superman' show, but of course I see no reason most wouldn't translate flawlessly on the big screen if it happens and feel free to use any for your own fan casts....hey, hope you enjoy...
Owain Yeoman as Clark Kent (Superman):
As an influential archetype of the superhero genre, Superman possesses extraordinary powers, with the character traditionally described as "faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound", a phrase coined by Jay Morton and first used in the Superman radio serials and Max Fleischer animated shorts of the 1940s.
The most significant attempt, John Byrne's 1986 rewrite, established several hard limits on his abilities: He barely survives a nuclear blast, and his space flights are limited by how long he can hold his breath. Superman's power levels have again increased since then, with Superman currently possessing enough strength to hurl mountains, withstand nuclear blasts with ease, fly into the sun unharmed, and survive in the vacuum of outer space without oxygen.
The source of Superman's powers has changed subtly over the course of his history. It was originally stated that Superman's abilities derived from his Kryptonian heritage, which made him eons more evolved than humans. This was soon amended, with the source for the powers now based upon the establishment of Krypton's gravity as having been stronger than that of the Earth. This situation mirrors that of Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter. As Superman's powers increased, the implication that all Kryptonians had possessed the same abilities became problematic for writers, making it doubtful that a race of such beings could have been wiped out by something as trifling as an exploding planet. In part to counter this, the Superman writers established that Kryptonians, whose native star Rao had been red, only possessed superpowers under the light of a yellow sun. More recent stories have attempted to find a balance between the two explanations.
Superman is most vulnerable to green Kryptonite, mineral debris from Krypton transformed into radioactive material by the forces that destroyed the planet. Exposure to green Kryptonite radiation nullifies Superman's powers and immobilizes him with pain and nausea; prolonged exposure will eventually kill him. The only mineral on Earth that can protect him from Kryptonite is lead, which blocks the radiation. Lead is also the only known substance that Superman cannot see through with his x-ray vision. Kryptonite was first introduced to the public in 1943 as a plot device to allow the radio serial voice actor, Bud Collyer, to take some time off. Although green Kryptonite is the most commonly seen form, writers have introduced other forms over the years: such as red, gold, blue, white, and black, each with its own effect.
Owain though reminds me so much of Alex Ross and John Byrne's Superman/Clark Kent its not funny, in fact if he wasn't such a perfect Captain Marvel for the big screen and/or I didn't love Routhy back or Henry Cavill as a big screen Superman... I would pick Yeoman in a heart beat. Saying all that and more he just would make the most perfect Clark and Supes on the small screen, after 'Smallville's' been and gone, why not, he'd own and at 6'4'' no ones gonna mess with this tough cookie... amazing actor, check out 'Mentalist' amongst other stuff, okay he could so do Supes too in the new movie, he is Superman!
Erin Karpluk as Lois Lane:
Lois underwent a character alteration beginning with John Byrne's The Man of Steel miniseries, which significantly rewrote Superman's origin and history. In this modern version of events, Lois was portrayed as a tough-as-nails reporter who rarely needed rescuing. She was depicted as strong, opinionated, yet sensitive.
Another major change made was that Lois did not fall in love with Superman (though she may have harbored a slight crush at first). One reason was the revised nature of the Superman/Clark Kent relationship. In the original Silver Age stories, Superman had been the man who disguised himself as Clark Kent. In this new revised concept, it was Clark Kent who lived a life in which his activity as Superman was decidedly secondary. Lois initially resented the rookie Clark Kent getting the story on Superman as his first piece when she had spent ages trying to get an interview, but she eventually became his best friend. Lois's first real relationship in this version was with Jose Delgado, a Metropolis vigilante whose legs are shattered in a battle with a Lexcorp cyborg/human hybrid gone amok. Delgado eventually recovered. He and Lois would have several on and off experiences together before the relationship completely disintegrated, mainly due to Clark and Lois becoming much closer as friends.
What can I say about Erin... apart from she screams Lois Lane! Just check out the TV series thats drama (slash) sci-fi 'Being Erica' where she plays Erica Strange. I'm only catching up and am enjoying this series a lot. Everytime I see her on screen, all I see is Lois Lane. She was in a series called 'Life Unexpected' too, also a cool little movie called 'Mrs Miracle.' All I can say is her acting ability is superb and she could easierly take on the role of Lois without even breaking a sweet. Gotta admit, she would also own too on the big screen as the super sexy reporter!
Jason Isaacs as Lex Luthor:
The Modern Age Lex Luthor is a product of child abuse and early poverty. Born in the Suicide Slum district of Metropolis, he is instilled with a desire to become a self-made man. As a teenager, he takes out a large insurance policy on his parents without their knowledge, then sabotages their car's brakes, causing their deaths. Upon graduating from MIT, Luthor founds his own business, LexCorp, which grows to dominate much of Metropolis.
Luthor does not physically appear in The Man of Steel until the fourth issue, which takes place over a year after Superman's arrival in Metropolis. When Lois Lane and Clark Kent are invited to a society gala aboard Luthor's yacht, terrorists seize the ship without warning, forcing Superman to intervene. [18] Luthor observes Superman in action, and once the gunmen are dispatched, hands the hero a personal check in an attempt to hire him. But when Luthor admits that he had not only anticipated the attack, but had arranged for it to occur in order to lure Superman out, the Mayor deputizes Superman to arrest Luthor for reckless endangerment. This, coupled with the indignation that Superman is the only person he could not buy off, threaten, or otherwise control, results in Luthor's pledge to destroy Superman at any cost. As such, he is more than willing to help other businessmen destroy other superbeings. He was instrumental in the apparent death of Swamp Thing, which jeopardized many lives as the Parliament of Trees attempted to replace him.
Luthor's romantic aspirations toward Lois Lane, established early on in the series, become a focal point of the stories immediately following it.[21] He is shown making repeated attempts to court her during The Man of Steel, though Lois plainly does not return his feelings.
I've thought Lex since his Sinestro days (well him and Weaving that is, but cool Strong got it). Yeah I've got my own pick for the big screen Luthor but for the small screen its Isaacs all the way, not only is he a decent actor (watch 'Brotherhood') he would bring depth and a cold heart to the character that is hats needed for good old Lexie, we don't want a clown, he ain't Joker, we need him as a top cold hearted villain and thats what Isaacs could play in spades. (Okay Joker's a c*** too lol).
Ray Wise as Perry White:
After Luthor becomes a successful businessman, he begins diversifying his holdings in his newly-founded LexCorp company, which includes buying the Daily Planet. Luthor soon sells it after deciding to pursue technology and television investments. Turning down an offer from Luthor to become part of Luthor's new television station WLEX, Perry finds an investor who saves the Daily Planet on the condition that Perry is promoted from reporter to editor. The entire episode, not the least of which is what Perry felt as having been forced out of his active writing career, leaves Perry bitter and angry with Luthor.
Perry marries Alice Spencer and has a son, Jerry White. Much later, after Jerry is fully grown, Perry learns that Lex Luthor is Jerry's biological father. Luthor briefly seduces Alice while Perry is overseas reporting on a war and thought to be killed.
Perry White's two greatest moves as editor are hiring Lois Lane and (later) Clark Kent. Ray Wises best move is when he owned it on the TV show 'Reaper,' awesome show. pity it didn't live that long, anyways the guy is top-notch and is great with the wise cracks, he owns it as the Devil. The guys got class in a handbag, would actually own any role to tell you the truth... but come on, wouldn't he be the best Perry ever?
DJ Qualls as Jimmy Olsen:
Jimmy is traditionally depicted as a bow tie-wearing, red-haired young man who works as a cub reporter and photographer for The Daily Planet, alongside Lois Lane and Clark Kent, whom he idolizes as career role models. In most depictions of the character, he also has a strong friendship with Superman. As Superman's friend, Jimmy has special access to the Man of Steel, thanks to Superman's gift to Jimmy of a "signal watch," a wristwatch which, with the press of a button, emits a special ultrasonic frequency signal that Superman can hear anywhere on Earth. (In Post-Crisis continuity Jimmy invented the watch himself, and Superman briefly considered confiscating it. In New Earth continuity, the watch was designed by Superman based on a larger signaling device Jimmy created.)
Now I don't know about you but I see Qualls as Jimmy, I mean look at the picture, the actor also got that geeky feel all over, you can believe him as he says CK to old Clarkie and starts jumping into action snapping then shots. I'm sure everyone knows his acting, my favorite (all time favorite) is 'Road Trip! : P
Tricia Helfer as Cat Grant:
Cat Grant arrives in Metropolis taking a position at The Daily Planet. She is well known for her syndicated gossip column, which until this point was written in her native Los Angeles. Recently divorced from Joe Morgan, a husband who had driven her to drink, Cat was now a single mother with a young son named Adam Morgan, trying to get a fresh start and stay sober.
Cat is instantly attracted to Clark Kent. They become fast friends, and even become romantically involved for a time, but eventually this ends, as Clark really loves Lois Lane, and seems more interested in helping Cat fix up her life than dating her. Jimmy Olsen in turn is attracted to Cat, but she seems to either not notice or not care. Her behavior around the office upsets both Lois and Perry White at different times.
Come on, you must see this one, anyone thats seen this actress acting must see she screams Cat Grant! I gotta admit of all her parts my favorite was her in 'BSG' top quality show, another that went before it should have. Anyways I've seen her in a few movies since and she was in the pilot of another DC Comics TV show thats great called 'Human Target,' only the pilot though, so she has plenty of time to play Cat Grant, yup she is Cat Grant!
Now even though its not Smallville, we need Lana for that love triangle, hey even if its just for a couple of episodes! ; D
Jayma Mays as Lana Lang:
In the post-Crisis version of events, Lana was a childhood friend of Clark, with a certain degree of romantic tension in the air as Lana had long pined after Clark, who had loved her only platonically in return.
After they graduated from high school Clark took Lana on a private walk, saying that he had to tell her something important, which Lana honestly expected to be a marriage proposal. He then divulged to her that he had superpowers, displayed by flying her around the world, before explaining that he felt he had to leave Smallville to help humanity as a whole. Kissing her goodbye "like a brother," Lana was left in considerable shock, not only over the revelation of Clark's superpowers, but also over the final realization that he held no reciprocal romantic feelings towards her, leaving Lana heartbroken and alone. When Lana finally aired her grievance with him years later, Clark felt very badly over how he had hurt her.
When Clark appeared in public as Superman some years later, the lonely and depressed Lana deduced his true identity and became something of a stalker, to the extent that Lex Luthor noticed the frequency with which she appeared in the vicinity of the hero and actually had her tortured in an attempt to gain whatever inside knowledge of Superman she might have. However, Lana bravely kept Clark's identity a secret and upon his rescuing her their relationship became more healthy once again, albeit still at a distance. Unlike the pre-Crisis Earth-One continuity, Lana did not go on to have a journalistic career, compete with Lois for Superman's affections, nor play a significant role in Clark's life in Metropolis.
Great actress, my favorite part of hers was in the movie 'Mall Cop.' Movie wasn't that great though it was a little funny, funnier with beer lol, heh heh, anyways she was great in it and always thought would make a fine darn Lana Lang so why not... plus a bonus she is a red head!
Okay, although its a Superman show, we need an odd cameo or two of other superheroes... much like 'Smallville' now but we wont be having characters like Bart Allen etc, when we can have the actual greats like Barry Allen an co!
James Van Der Beek as The Flash (Barry Allen):
Barry Allen is a police scientist (his job title was changed to a forensic scientist in The Flash: Iron Heights one-shot) with a reputation for being very slow, deliberate, and frequently late, which frustrates his fiancee, Iris West. One night, as he is preparing to leave work, a lightning bolt shatters a case full of chemicals and spills them all over Allen. As a result, Allen finds that he can run extremely fast and has matching reflexes. He dons a set of red tights sporting a lightning bolt, dubs himself the Flash (after his childhood comic book hero, Jay Garrick), and becomes Central City's resident costumed crimefighter. Central City University professor Ira West (Iris' adoptive father) designed Allen's costume (reminiscent of the original Fawcett Captain Marvel) and the ring which stores it while Allen is in his civilian identity. The ring can eject the compressed clothing when Allen needs it and suck it back in with the aid of a special gas that shrinks the suit. In addition, Allen invented the cosmic treadmill, a device that allowed for precise time travel and was used in many stories. Allen was so well liked that nearly all speedsters that come after him are constantly compared to him. Batman once said "Barry is the kind of man that I would've hoped to become if my parents hadn't been murdered."
I've always thought this, I don't know why... although my top picks for a big screen Flash (Barry Allen) are Scott Speedman (Younger) and Matthew Fox (Older/Death of The Flash). I can see James Van Der Beek (what a name lol) as a young Barry Allen, TV wise anyways, not only do I like him as an actor (no never watch Dawsons Creek lol, well not much) but he does look strangely like John Wesley Ship (the Barry of all Barry's) so yes I want Van as Barry Allen, I believe John Wesley Ship played his dad too on that show, so how [frick]ed up is that lol, he'd be great for an episode or two!
Susan Ward as Wonder Woman:
Wonder Woman is an Amazon (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and was created by Marston, an American, as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men." Her powers include superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. She uses her Lasso of Truth, which forces those bound by it to tell the truth, a pair of indestructible bracelets, a tiara which serves as a projectile, and an invisible airplane.
Post-Crisis: After a brief interrogation, Diana places the head of To-Choi Industries in a state of slumber.
Wonder Woman's body is a mystical creation made from the clay surrounding Themyscira. Through divine means, her disembodied soul was nurtured in and retrieved from the Cavern of Souls. Once the soul was placed into the body, it immediately came to life and was blessed with metahuman abilities by six Olympian deities.
Susan Ward you say... I say YES... not only does she look perfect for the part the lady does have acting chops on her, also has the figure of what we need for Wonder Woman and I've seen her throw a few punches too, I could've said Jodi Lynn O'keefe but people are probably bored of me saying that lol, anyways that ones better for the big screen though I really like Erin Cummings now ('Spartacus') but either I wouldn't complain, nor Lucy Griffiths or even Susan Ward! Anyways Ward can be seen in many dramas and sit-coms also I like her in 'Wild Things II.' I think she would make a top TV Wonder Woman... heck she even has that Lynda Carter look and feel about her!
Okay, you can't have a series with no top Supervillains. Well we've got Lex but I've thrown a few more in, you know, just for the odd episode. Of course I'm not using all of Supes rogues gallery as thats what season 2 onwards is for! ; )
Jared Harris as Toyman:
After 1985's miniseries Crisis on Infinite Earths and John Byrne's Man of Steel miniseries, the Toyman's history was revised, and the post-Crisis version of the character first appeared in Superman (vol. 2) #13 (January 1988). In this version, Winslow Schott is an unemployed British toymaker who blames Lex Luthor and his company, LexCorp, for being fired from the toy company he is working for. He uses his toymaking talents to seek revenge, which eventually causes him to cross paths with the British hero Godiva, and subsequently, Superman himself. The Toyman continues to commit various crimes in Metropolis, including engaging in child abduction.
The Toyman later became a much more sinister figure, shaving his head and getting advice in his head from "Mother". This was prompted by him being told that a range of Superman action figures would not include him as he is not "edgy" enough. While this seems to begin as a pose of what he thought people expect of a villain, it rapidly became a genuine psychotic break. While in this state he abducts and later murdered Adam Morgan, the son of Daily Planet reporter Cat Grant. Adam and several other children captured by Toyman tried to escape, but Schott found out and stabbed Adam to death for being the leader of the group.[volume & issue needed] This caused Schott to develop a hatred of children, as he blamed them for not appreciating his toys.
I think Harris is dark enough to play this role to a tea on TV. Good actor and he has that look where you could sh1t your pants if he stared at you look! : P
Dominic Purcell as Mettalo:
John Corben was a small-time con man who was fatally injured in a car crash, but to his luck Professor Emmet Vale happened to pass by. Professor Vale was a pioneer in robotics, and erroneously believed that Superman was the first in a wave of superpowered Kryptonian invaders after recovering Superman's ship and erroneously translating Jor-El's message to his son. Vale transplanted Corben's brain into a robotic body, which was powered by a two-pound chunk of kryptonite, and instructed him to kill Superman. Metallo — the alloy his body was made of, and now Corben's new moniker — thanked Vale by snapping his neck, killing him.
Despite ignoring Vale's commands, Metallo came into conflict with Superman on various occasions, in large part due to his continued activities as a petty thug. Metallo later lost his kryptonite heart to Lex Luthor, though back-up life support systems allowed Metallo to reactivate himself and escape. He remained a thorn in Superman's side, and is powerful enough to cripple the Doom Patrol.
Some may not like the actor much but I think he's a great actor, he was amazing as Lincoln Burrows in 'Prison Break' (miss that show) and my favorite show (short lived) was him starring in 'John Doe!' Hey just look at the picture of Metallo... Purcell breaths that character and it would be an amazing thing to see on screen be it small or even the big screen. Hey he played John Doe, why not John Corben, its a John thing lol!
Clint Howard as Mr.Mxyzptlk:
Mr. Mxyzptlk (pronounced /mɪksˈjɛzpɪtlɪk/, us dict: mĭks·yĕz′·pĭt·lĭk, or /mɪksˈjɛzpɪtəlɪk/, us dict: mĭks·yĕz′·pĭt·l·ĭk), sometimes called Mxy.
After the establishment of DC Comics' multiverse in the 1960s, it was later explained that the purple-suited Mxyztplk (the T and P are transposed to slightly alter the name) lives in the Fifth Dimension connected to Earth-Two and the orange-costumed Mxyzptlk in the Fifth Dimension connected to Earth-One. The Earth-One version is also retconned into Superboy stories as the red-haired Master Mxyzptlk, who bedevils Superboy during his youth in Smallville.
A 30th-century descendant of Mxyzptlk appeared in Adventure Comics #310 (July 1963) with similar abilities. Much crueler than his ancestor, this version kills most of the Legion of Super-Heroes until Superboy tricks him into falling victim to the same "Kltpzyxm" weakness, reversing the effects of his magic.
Hey I can never remember how to spell his name no matter how much I try lol and damn I reckon Clint Howard who I last saw in an episode of 'Fringe' is top notch to play the guy, the weirdness of his face (sorry Clint lol) to the way he speaks, he could own it as Mr.M... We need a decent version both 'Lois & Clark' and 'Smallville' versions have been total sh1t! Its time to give this character justice and I think Clint Howards the man to do it in spades.
Timothy Olyphant ad Deathstroke The Terminator (Slade Wilson):
Imbued with enhanced physical powers by secret army experiments attempting to create metahuman supersoldiers for the U.S. military, Deathstroke became a mercenary soon after the experiment when he defied orders and rescued his friend Wintergreen, who had been sent on a suicide mission by a commanding officer with a grudge. However, he kept this career secret from his family, even though his wife was an expert military combat instructor—indeed, she had been responsible for a significant portion of his early training—until a criminal named the Jackal kidnapped his younger son, Joseph, as a hostage to force Slade to divulge the name of a client who had hired him as an assassin. Slade refused to do so, claiming that it was against his personal honor code, and attacked and killed the kidnappers at the rendezvous. Unfortunately, Joseph's throat was slashed by one of the criminals before Slade could prevent it, destroying his vocal cords and rendering him mute.
After taking Joseph to the hospital, Slade's wife, Adeline, enraged at his endangerment of her son, tried to kill Slade by shooting him, but only managed to destroy his right eye. Afterward, his confidence in his physical abilities was such that he made no secret of his impaired vision, marked by his mask which has a black, featureless half covering his lost eye. Without his mask, Slade wears an eye-patch.
Olyphant you say, heck yes I say, he was fantastic in a very underrated show called 'Deadwood' and has done many thing previous and since to, the guys got quality on many levels including his acting. I know some may say he don't look old enough but remember this is early days and also a tiny bit of make up would solve that problem, also lol I have him for Slade too in my Green Arrow TV casting, so why change it lol. Awesome actor, awesome character an he'll make an awesome Deathstroke The Terminator!
Michael Barryman as The Parasite:
Rudy Jones: Originally a menial slacker, Rudy Jones was transformed into the Parasite while working as a janitor at a Pittsburgh S.T.A.R. Labs facility. Unknown to anyone at the scene, the Lord of Apokolips, Darkseid, remembered the Pre-Crisis Parasite and manipulated Jones to become the modern version. He made Rudy think that a waste container might have held something valuable. He opened it and was exposed to strange radiation that changed his body into the bald, green-skinned villain. Jones now had the ability to absorb the life energy of other people, leaving smoldering skeletons. This power was necessary for his survival as his own body is in a constant state of hunger for energy that it can't sustain on its own. During this time, Martin Stein, one half of the Firestorm matrix (Ronnie Raymond being the other half) learned he was dying and decided to destroy all the nuclear weapons in the world. This did not sit well with Earth's governments, particularly the United States, who sent the Suicide Squad to Times Square, where Firestorm was holding a press conference. Things quickly got out of control as the Squad and the Justice League, both intent on subduing Firestorm, fought one another, and the Parasite (who was brought on the mission against the protestations of both Amanda Waller and Colonel Rick Flag Jr.) is released. He goes on a rampage and apparently kills Multiplex, only being brought under control by the cooperation of both teams. Later, he attacked the new Firestorm, who easily subdued him and left him near death.
Now I'm not sure what Rudy Jones human side looks like but you can't argue Michael Barryman is great whatever he's in, the guys got TV written all over him and steals every scene in his weird and wonderful way. Yeah I know most of Parasite would be in the shadows as it'll be mostly CGI an as 'Smallville' has proved CG characters on small budgets look crapola lol. Its just as well Barryman's half way there already and damn I could belive him as a janitor from Pittsburgh, anyway I choose him.
Kim Director as Big Barda:
Barda was born of the race of New Gods about 250 years ago, on Apokolips. Her mother was named Big Breeda, but Barda was taken away from her at an early age to be trained as a warrior. She was a product of Granny Goodness' Home for Orphaned Youth. Granny's motto is "Die for Darkseid" (the planet's evil ruler). Granny groomed Barda to one day lead the Female Fury Battalion, a ferocious pack of warrior women.[4] However, during a raid Barda meets Scott Free, Darkseid's adopted son, and, sensing a peace about him, fell in love.
Barda risked her own safety to work with the rebel cell lead by the New God Himon. Both of them helped Scott escape from Apokolips. Eventually, Barda turned her back on Granny, and came to Earth herself. Scott had become an escape artist called Mister Miracle, and is teamed with Oberon, his diminutive manager. Scott and Barda were married by Scott's father, the Highfather of New Genesis.
For a number of years, Barda followed Scott and Oberon on tour. Eventually they retired as superheroes and move to Bailey, New Hampshire. However, despite their best attempts, a normal life eluded them. Disasters plagued them; Barda, Scott, and Oberon left Bailey and moved to a loft in Greenwich Village, New York City. Barda formed a defense-training program for women called the New Female Furies.
Okay, shes not really a supervillain, but her first on screen appearance she can be. She'd certainly give Superman a run for his money, even some kind of attraction there, just like Wonder Woman, Lana Lang, Cat Grant and of course Lois Lane, damn Clarkies a busy guy! Yeah TANKGIRL thought this one up before I did so all credit goes to her, yup I agree... Kim Director is very scary looking, give me chills when she acts too lol, deffo Big Barda, especially for this TV show!
Andrew Bryniarski as The Main Man: Lobo!
Lobo is a Czarnian (originally a Velorpian in the Omega Men series) with exceptional strength and fortitude. He enjoys nothing better than mindless violence and intoxication. Killing is an end in itself; his name is Khundian for "he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it." He is also arrogant and self-centered, focusing almost solely on his own pleasures, although he proudly lives up to his word – but exactly his word: no more or no less than what he promised. Lobo is the last of his kind, having committed complete genocide by killing all the other Czarnians for fun (as originally written, Psions had exterminated his race, but after the Crisis on Infinite Earths, this was retconned). As detailed in Lobo #0, Lobo unleashed a violent plague (a hybrid of flying scorpions) upon his homeworld, killing most of its citizens. In Superman: The Animated Series, Lobo nonchalantly tells Superman the fate of his race: "I'm the last Czarnian. I fragged the rest of the planet for my high school science project. Gave myself an A."
Lobo possesses extraordinary strength of undefined limits. His strength, much like his other powers, varies greatly depending upon different artistic interpretations of various comic book writers. In some instances, he is depicted as being barely stronger than a human while, in others, he demonstrates physical strength on a similar level to Superman. Lobo also possesses superhuman durability, which varies greatly as well. Lobo is depicted, in some situations, as being injured by conventional bullets while, in other situations, he has the physical resiliency to stand toe to toe with Superman, survive unprotected in deep space, and withstand powerful explosive blasts without sustaining injury. He has displayed particular susceptibility to gaseous chemicals.
If Lobo sustains injury, his accelerated healing factor enables him to regenerate damaged or destroyed tissue with superhuman speed and efficiency, and little apparent pain. Lobo also is functionally immortal. He is immune to the effects of aging and disease and he has been banned from entering either Heaven or Hell. As such, even though he can sustain sufficient injury to be out of commission for quite some time, he will apparently heal from any injury, given sufficient time. For instance, Lobo can regenerate out of a pool of his own blood, apparently recycling the cells. At one time, Lobo could grow a copy of himself, possessing all of his skills and powers, out of every drop of his blood that was spilled. This power, however, was removed by Vril Dox, during Lobo's time with L.E.G.I.O.N.
Lobo's friends include Dawg, a bulldog that he often claims is not his when it gets into trouble. I loved him best in L.E.G.I.O.N.
Hopefully one day we'll have a WB TV show of that with the budget and looks of 'Babylon 5!' Ahhh if only!
An yes I know, I want Kevin Durrand too, but this is for the TV version of Lobo, I still wanna see Durrand Frag it up on the big screen, hopefully having a cameo in the new 'Green Lantern' movie or/and cameo in the new 'Superman' movie, also his very own messed up action packed movie too! But I reckon Andrew done a great Lobo on barely a budget on that fantastic Lobo fan-film that he deserves to play Lobo on this show... ah if only it was real! He played a wicked Lobo and would love to see him trying to beat the crap outta Yeoman's Superman, that would be beyond awesome!
LEEE777 - By the way, not a lot of Krypton or Smallville here because the show would be startng out in Metropolis, so no Jor-El or Ma and PA Kent etc. Anyways comment below and thanx for reading! ; D
