Alright, so this is my first article. I've been a fan of this site for years and I just had the courage to make an account and make my first article because I would like to see if anyone else in this world can agree with me or if I'm just awful.
But a disclaimer for everyone; as far as comic books go, my knowledge is limited. I want to be perfectly honest. I read Batman, X-men, and Elektra. I'm open to others but i haven't really gotten into the fandoms, so if i say something out of context or wrong, I do apologize. This is my disclaimer and my fair warning.
ANYWAY. You take Harley Quinn, a hopelessly devoted servant to the Joker. Their relationship is very complex and very hard to understand. In the Nolan-verse version of Batman, Heath Ledger portrayed a very surprising take of him that I absolutely loved. And I'm sure i'm not the only one. Now, I'm more than certain if Heath was still around, Joker would be in the sequel AND we would probably see Dr. Harleen Quinzel AKA Harley Quinn.
I think one of the best actresses for the role would be none other than this lady right here: Ellen Page.
Why? Because, well first of all Chris Nolan has a knack for recycling actors and she was marvelous in Inception. Second of all it's Ellen Page, I know not everyone loves her, but i think she's amazing and could totally own this part. Watching the movie 'Hard Candy' made me realize this. She can play twisted, manipulative, crazy, as well as naive. Ellen Page isn't exactly the hottest actress out there, but if the role is played well then why not? Chances are she'd be all make-uped out. And I feel like fans would be able to take the actress more seriously than just putting in a 'regulation hottie' in a black and red unitard with an awful laugh that makes you wanna drown a kitten. I believe Ellen Page could portray the twisted justification, the longest for acceptence, vulnerability, and insecurity that she displays.
And I feel like if Heath Ledger was still alive, it would be very likely for this route to be taken.
Your thoughts? I don't know if anyone else has come up with this idea or not, I'd be lying if I said I checked. So I apologize if I'm repeating someone elses existing article. But what do you guys think? Let me know!
