Ryan McPartlin IS Barry Allen

Anyone who has watched CHUCK will agree that this man was born to play a superhero. Ryan McPartlin was already a fan favorite to play Captain America. Lets look at the reasons why he just may be the perfect Barry Allen.

Reasons why McPartlin could physically play Bartholomew 'Barry' Henry Allen also known as The Flash, in the upcoming DC film.

Age: Ryan McPartlin is already 35 years old, just a year older than Ryan Reynolds so there are no problems there.

Height: 6'3 (while Barry Allen is said to be between 5'11 and 6'2, this shouldn't be a problem since height translates well on camera.)

Eyes: Blue (same as Barry Allen)

Hair: Blond (same as Barry Allen)

Ability to play a Police chemist: We've already seen him convincingly portray a doctor on 'Chuck'. Playing a chemist should require a more serious tone which I believe is capable as we've seen funny man Ryan Reynolds develop a serious tone for Hal Jordan.

Acting ability: Sure we haven't seen him do that many films, but we have seen him do various personalities and emotions on 'Chuck', so in reality his acting ability can only be put to the test by the actual Casting procedures. Remember, we hadn't seen Toby McGuire in much before Spiderman and look how that worked out.

Will he be able to carry his own film?: With a strong supporting cast filled with well known and most importantly experienced actors and a promising director he might just be able to.

I used to picture him as Aquaman a few years back but now having read The Flash: Rebirth I can't seem to picture anyone else fill the role of Barry Allen.

I would just love to see the sceen below on a bigscreen, wouldn't you?

Well, for an origin story, i will agree that McPartlin would be a great Barry. But like i said in my reply to you on my editorial, having him as Barry would make Wally too young to eventually take up the mantle. I'm not against it but i can't prefer it. Good point about the doctor part and the blond hair though ;)

Meh, still not sold on his acting. He does have the perfect "hero" look, I can't deny that.

We haven't seen Reynolds play a "serious" Lantern yet but I see what you mean, even though my example would have been Keaton-Batman. Oh, by the way, McPartlan is Booster Gold. Mike Weatherly is Barry.

Very good man!

For me the only problem is the height, so we have to find actors to be much higher Superman and Batman for the JLA movie!

Thanks for the comments, and of course yes Keaton as Batman is a great example as well!

I have to say though Chris Pine's acting range is pretty disappointing, in whatever films I've seen him in (Carriers, Star Trek, Blind Dating) he always portrays the same personality for each character (a rather cocky one at that). Barry Allen cannot in any way be seen as cocky, lets leave that for The Kid Flash.

@Shaman, you have a really good point... really depends on what age difference we'd like to see Wally and Barry have. If we have Wally West as 10-15 years younger that would make him around 20-25 which is a solid age range for a male supporting actor. As long as it isn't someone associated with Disney, it may work.
