I'd rather not get too pretentious with the "process" of the my fan art, but what I will simply say is that I hand drew them, scanned them, and then fixed up everything around their faces on the computer. I'm plead with how they turned and figured I might as well share in my not so humble way.
For the Green Goblin I took inspiration from the original in terms of physical stature and general expressive nature, but I took some notes from Ultimate Green Goblin by making the villain physically be a goblin as well as wearing a purple ragged hood.
I don't think there is much doubt that I am directly taking inspiration from Ultimate Mysterio. That version of the character is just so much more badass in appearance and presence.
I originally wanted to nearly copy Ock from Spider-Man 2, but eventually went more of a Spectacular Spider-Man (TV) direction. The thinner and darker arm design has a really sleek look to them that I had to use.
I always found the character rather creepy. I mean, he is a man of many faces, but himself has no face to show. The less distinguishable features the colder he looks and essentially that is what I made.
Rhino has always had a goofy costume to explain, but the design in the excellent Gauntlet storyline had a really great edge to it. The rocky texture as well as a sort of cowl that seamlessly forms into his horn. I had to adapt the design.
And finally we have Electro. Another Spectacular Spider-Man alum so to speak. I really dug the idea they used in the show that he is not inherently a criminal or a bad person. He was just dealt a bad hand and is forced to be contained because of it. So I gave him a hazmat like suit. The only insight into the man inside is through his eyes, which I wanted to convey a sense of fear.
So yeah these are my designs I hope you liked them. As I said I'm pretty happy with the results and I hope I wasn't too pretentious in my descriptions.
