The Amazing Spider-Man
Peter Parker was your average teenage boy. Until…well, you know the story. It’s been a wild summer vacation for Peter Parker. Becoming a superhero does have it’s perks. But through all the fun and excitement, Peter and his Aunt May are reminded everyday of his late Uncle Ben. ‘With great power, comes great responsibility’, and that responsibility might be too much for the sophomore honor student. After a bounty is put on his head by crime lord Tombstone, Spider-Man finds himself hunted by The Enforcers; who aren’t your everyday thugs. When the score is settled and the smoke clears, Tombstone unleashes another weapon on the Wall Crawler. A villain dubbed by the Daily Bugle as ‘The Vulture’. Meanwhile, the mysterious right-hand man of Tombstone, the Chameleon is carefully watching the Web Slinger in an effort to discover his true identity. With controversy swirling Oscorp regarding their involvement with the creation of the ‘Vulture’ weaponry, ultimate chaos ensues and there just might be only one man, or one hero who can save the day…The Amazing Spider-Man.
(After being beaten in the second act, Montana of The Enforcers manages to escape custody of the police and returns to Tombstone with his head held low. Given a second chance, Montana becomes Shocker in the third act and gets in on the action, rivaling The Vulture for the capture of Spider-Man. Eventually, they turn on each other after murdering the Chameleon who sides with Spider-Man after discovering that he is only a kid and Spider-Man gains the upper hand, surrendering the two foes over to the police.)
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
It’s his junior year in high school, and Peter Parker is just as socially awkward as ever. Sure, being Spider-Man is tough work-what with having to deal with things like giant rhinoceroses and such, but high school might prove to be even more difficult! Peter’s best friend Harry Osborne, son of controversial Oscorp CEO Norman Osborne, has been acting different lately. Worried that his friend has turned to drugs, Peter tries to get Harry to open up to him, but doesn’t co-operate. That is until the new girl in school, Mary Jane Watson transfers to Midtown High. Peter is also having troubles with his other best friend Gwen Stacy. Confusion about the status of their relationship quickly makes things awkward between the two and Peter is left with no one to confide to, except the ‘new girl’. Not only that, but a new villain is terrorizing New York City: the Green Goblin. Speculation on the origins of this new terrorist once again leads to Norman Osborne who won’t say anything regarding the connection between him and the Goblin. Can Spider-Man stop the demonic Green Goblin? Can Peter Parker patch things up with his friends Harry and Gwen?
(After Harry starts to open up to Peter and reveals that he has developed a little crush on Mary Jane, Peter finds himself in another tight spot, as he and MJ have started to spark a connection themselves. Discovering this sends Harry into a depression and abandons his friendship with Peter and Gwen. Soon after, the Green Goblin crashes a high school dance and abducts Gwen Stacy. Spider-Man and the Goblin duke it out on the Queensborough Bridge where Gwen unfortunately meets her demise and the Goblin’s secret identity is revealed to be Harry Osborne himself. The Goblin gets Spider-Man pinned down with his glider, removes Spidey’s mask and has an epiphany as he watches his best-and only friend in the world squirm for his life. Realizing what he’s done, Harry keeps Spider-Man pinned and walks to the edge of the bridge where he leaps to his death, releasing Spider-Man by remote just before it’s too late.)
The Amazing Spider-Man 3
The deaths of Peter Parker’s best friends Harry and Gwen have left him questioning his ability to remain a superhero. Retiring his costume since his last adventure, Peter returns to high school for his senior year in hopes of being a regular teenager before he graduates. But something has come over Peter this year. Something dark. After becoming attached to an alien symbiote in his mentor Dr. Curt Connors’ lab, Peter’s attitude drastically changes; making him more secluded and bitter. Turning his back on Mary Jane and screwing rival photographer Eddie Brock, Jr out of his job after turning in doctored pictures of Spider-Man killing Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborne, Peter has become anything but a regular teenager. But whether he gives up the Spider-Man identity or not, world class bounty hunter Kraven is after him. With revenge in his heart, Kraven hunts down the wall crawler using every skill he has obtained over the years of catching his prey…100% of the time. Peter is faced with the difficult decision to become Spider-Man once again after discovering that his mentor and future physics professor Dr. Connors has become ill; an illness that once regenerated a lost limb, but quickly transformed him into a monster. For the sake of New York’s safety and Dr. Connors’ safety, it seems that Peter Parker has no choice but to swing back into action. Except this time, his costume is just a little different…
(The black costume is practically a celebrity as it was posted in the Daily Bugle as ‘proof that we are not alone’. After being discovered by Dr. Reed Richards, the alien symbiote was spliced and a piece was lent to good friend Dr. Curt Connors as a ‘personal favor’. Upon visiting Dr. Connors, Peter unknowingly becomes attached to the symbiote and the rest you can piece together. Kraven has no luck in actually finding Spider-Man until he appears one night on the streets battling the Lizard. As the Lizard escapes, Kraven and the new dark Spider-Man duke it out until the fight is broken up by the police. Being one of the world’s most wanted criminals, Kraven flees as does Spider-Man. Kraven finds out that the Lizard is actually Dr. Curt Connors and lures Spider-Man to him after creating a very public scene involving himself and the Lizard. A three way battle ensues and Kraven mortally wounds the Lizard who transforms back into Curt Connors. Spider-Man eventually gets the upper hand on Kraven using his new special abilities. Kraven is turned over to the police and Dr. Connors dies in Peter’s inside the doctor’s laboratory just after Peter reveals to him his true identity. After that, Peter retreats to a bell tower and attempts to get rid of the alien symbiote. What seems to be a success, may actually turn out to be his greatest mistake yet…)
The Amazing Spider-Man 4
It’s Spider-Man vs. Venom. Epic. I’m talking Metallica orchestrated, just toeing the line of cheesy fight scenes with a real badass and cerebral Venom. Wouldn’t it make your spine just tingle if we got to see a scene where Peter comes home to Aunt May talking with Eddie Brock post symbiote? Man! This might be the most anticipated superhero movie ever made. That sounds generous given that I’m a huge Spidey fan, but I think if the fans had only one choice of a superhero movie to see in an entire year, it would be Spider-Man vs. Venom. Unfortunately, we will NEVER see Carnage on screen because Spider-Man has already established a demographic that wouldn’t allow Carnage (or at least the Carnage that we all want) to make an appearance. The best we would get would be regular old Cletus Cassidy.
So that's only 4 movies (only?). Tell me what you think cause I apparently have nothing better to do!
