The New Spidey (PART 3)

The New Spidey (PART 3)

PART 3 of my take on the Spider-Man mythos with new characters, stories, and villains...

RECAP: Since continuing his antics as Spider-Man, Alan spends more time with Jess, as well as finding himself in a way. Soon he discovers he is a wanted man by the police, as they believe him to be a possible threat to the city. After seeing that things are getting outlandish, Steven informs Dr. Anderson that he is destroying the formula and creating an antidote for Alan. Dr. Anderson, in response, fires Steven and has his wife killed by his group of thugs.

PART 3: Alan confronts his father immediately, starting off by asking how long he knew about his powers. Steven confesses that he has known for some time, and even goes as far as to tell Alan to stop playing hero, because he could get hurt. The conversation ends with Alan feeling as if it's his fault his mom is dead because, if he hadn't been out with Jess, none of this would have happened. But, the entire thing is in full Steven's fault because of his refusal to continue his work at Biotech.
Alan immediately suits up and goes to blow off steam by going for a swing. He confronts a group of thugs as they attempt to rob a street vendor. A crowd watches in horror as Spider-Man, who they thought was their hero, beats these men near to death. Alan realizes that what he is doing is wrong before it goes to far, and he is attacked by the thugs and gets pretty roughed up. He manages to incapacitate the thugs and swing home without getting killed. At school a couple of days later, TJ and Alan both start to realize that the Spider-Man alter ego is harder to deal with than they thought it would be, and Jess is shocked when she sees all of Alan's partially healed bruises and scratches from the fighting. He simply explains it as injuries he got when he received from a mugging.  Both TJ and Jess feel incredibly sorry for Alan when they learn of his mother's death.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anderson is very desperately trying to recreate Steven's formula, and has the team of scientists he worked with on the serum try to recreate it along with him. He discusses with the head of the project, Dr. Rattner, that he wishes to capture Spider-Man, because he believes he would be a great asset to the research. Rattner accepts, because he is offered a very generous bonus if he can pull it off.
Meanwhile, Alan and Jess are nearly inseparable as she concoles him about his mother's death. Alan feels very grateful that he has people like Jess in his life, as well as TJ. While talking with TJ, he contemplates that maybe he should give up the mantle of Spider-Man so that he can live a normal life without having things like this happen. Then, TJ reminds him that his mother thought that what Spider-Man was doing for the city was a great thing, which makes Alan now feel like he HAS to be Spider-Man in order for his mother to forgive him for letting her down.
Steven tries to convince Alan to quit his job as a lab assistant at Biotech without telling him about Dr. Anderson and his secret agenda, but Alan says that he likes working there and he refuses to quit. Dr. Anderson keeps a close eye on Alan in the meantime, wanting him to be vulnerable when the time comes for him to be captured.
Meanwhile, in secret, Dr Rattner and a team of scientists create their own version of the serum, and we find out that they have been testing it on humans in the meantime. Almost all of the mutations they have been able to create have either been unsuccessful or have died... except for one of them. They have created what they think will be the ultimate asset in helping them capture Spider-Man: ANOTHER arachno-human mutation, which they nicknamed "Ratt" after it's creator, Dr. Rattner. Heck, they even used his DNA to create the thing.

(I pictured the creature to look something like this.)

As always, constructive criticism is  encouraged... annnnnd PART 4 will be up shortly!

Your awesome dude, keep up the good work! And can you make and post some new pics of his costume and his physical appearance? That would be pretty cool.

Or how about this: I'll make a separate article and shiw what the characters look like. Kind of like a fancast.

Love it. Everything about your story makes sense and it is very original compared to all the generic superhero fan fictions out there. I can really feel for Alan's character and you really made him seem like a real-life high schooler. I really enjoy your stories. Do you have any idea how many stories you're going to tell about Alan?

@superherofan21 Thanks man, I really appreciate the compliment! In reply to your question on as to how many stories I'll tell about him:
You see, I like to treat every story as if it were a movie, so to speak. I think about how in most books it seems as if they would take, say, two or three movies to tell one story. Then, I try to shorten it by taking out things like excess subplots or charcters, etc.
This story right now all kind of takes place of an origin story, where even though it is an origin story, it is rhe main focus of it all, so the origin goes on at the same time as the main plot, basically. This is all just one story, is what I'm trying to say.
As for how many stories will feature Alan: I have no idea. Like i said, I treat my stories as if they were movies so as not to make them too long and drug out. I'm thinking it'll probably be a trilogy or so of stories for Alan. Ot trally depends on how much I can think up for my own story's universe, you know? I just have so many ideas for this character that I'm not really sure how to go about putting them in one story without making a mess of things. (Achem, SM3)

Great Job, Dude!!!

I've been reading this since the beginning and this is some really good work. One question though, is this a completeley new version of Spider-Man or our we going to see something from that universe as well and what is Alan's last name.

But anyways, GREAT JOB, MAN.

@MovieGuy2178 Thanks for reading, I'm glad you like it. Yes, this is basically my own universe, where everything is kind of own it's standalone story. I just kind of thought: "How would I make Spider-Man?"
This idea had been spinning (No pun intended) around in my head since I was 11, I think. And I just felt I needed to tell it and thought: "What better place to tell it than CBM?"

Also: Alan's last name is White. I think I put it somewhere in my first article somewhere... I'm not too sure

I just can't wait till you start making non-orgin stories and start making action packed stories. Keep em coming make Alan more awesome! I really enjoy your stories please keep making them and make them long and fun!!

@casualguy I like the way you think. Personally, I think this would make a great film, and I'm glad you think of the story as a movie. I can't wait to see how you finish this story and I can't wait to see whether you'll write a sequel or not.

@Spidey31 Don't worry... Pt 4 will be up soon. And, not to brag, I' say it' pretty awesome compared to these first 3. It's got WAAAY over the top action packed scenes, and they're pretty intense. Check back soon!
@soda9 I've already read it. Nice job!
@superherofan21 I'm glad you see it that way too! I guess it's just the way I think. And yes, when I get the story together I'll make a sequel. Title suggestions are welcome...
superherofan21
superherofan21 - 6/24/2012, 11:15 PM
@casualguy Well, the title really depends on the plot or circumstance, but you could do something generic like "The New Spider-Man 2" or "The New Spider-Man Returns". You can use either of those if you'd like, but I'd say to incorporate your theme into the title, sort of like what Christopher Nolan did with "The Dark Knight" if you know what I'm trying to say.

@superherofan21 Yeah, I was starting to think that myself. I liked Spidey31's "Neo Spider-Man", though. Maybe I'll workshop that a bit?
