Hey all, well I was surprised to see this announcement come out pretty fast. This past week it was announced that there will be a sequel to Transformers: War for Cybertron, so far called War for Cybertron 2.....smart thinking huh. I for one am excited for a new game to be announced, I really enjoyed the first game which was mainly a fan service game and a well done 3rd person shooter. Granted it did have some flaws, like most games due, but you take the good with the bad. So hopefully this sequel should build upon what was established in the first game and to also add in new features. So with that, I'm gonna do an article on what for them to improve and what to add. None of these are in any hierarchical, or particular order. Lets begin with Improve......

#1. Story: Now for a game featuring giant robots that can shape shift into various vehicles waging war with a good side and a bad side, a Story for the most part can be done on a post it note. However, if the developers are gonna look for a story to build upon the first story, their best bet is to mine one of the best Transformer's comic titles; All Hail Megatron. The comic arc tells of Megatron and the Decepticons invading earth and taking it over with ease, while the autobots were stranded on Cybertron and defending themselves from the remaining hordes. This was one of the few comics that I read that was not DC or Marvel, and it totally blew me away. The campaign for the story can follow this tale in great aspect, because you add in a new element, Humanity. Seeing human weaponry attacking the giant Robots can add tons of fun new features that give each campaign certain objectives.

#2. Character swapping: Whenever you began a mission on either side, you were given a choice of three characters to play with their own weapon sets and abilities. After that, it was straight through with that character while the other two characters were set on auto-play. One thing to build upon is to allow players the ability to swap to any of the selected characters of their choosing. A secondary part is to give you the ability to choose three characters to lead into each level. Think of all the combinations you could have with a three team roster of your own creation.

#3. Brighter world: The one aspect I had to see as a flaw was how dark and gritty the world of Cybertron was. Now granted that it is a world of giant robots, but even seeing where stuff is important. If they do All Hail Megatron, adding the Earth environments would give the game a brighter look and add to the visuals the developers are trying to create.

#4. Wider variety of enemies: The enemies on either side of the missions were nothing more than color swapped stock villains or heroes. True it would be tough to have classic characters gunning it out in these levels, but adding them as Generals and taking them out would give you a more advantage.

#5. Better weapons and targeting: I put these two together because one can't go without the other. The problem with the weapons in the first game were basic weapons you would find in any 3rd person shooter, the big flaw in that is for giant robots, weapons handle in a terrible way. Aiming took too long and when you got a chance to shoot the weapon would shoot randomly and hit only a few things while you get bombarded by the enemies. Your best weapon was the SMG and even that you still could miss a lot. Ditch the stock weapons and get creative. With targeting, while not just giving us auto aim like 1st person shooters do nowadays, giving us better reticule features would be an improvement.

#6. More Missions/levels: War for Cybertron had 10 levels that were split between each faction. 5 levels a piece, with the final one being a huge showdown with the biggest of the big. Now they did something clever with this, all they did was make the levels really long and huge, to compensate for the lack of more missions. That is a dual edge sword, you make large levels but lack a good amount of levels and environments.

#7. Multi-player: yes, I know the game has multi-player but it feels like all the rest, adding nothing new or original to all the same kinds of modes out there in other, better games. I rarely do multi-player and when I do it is only when it has a fun mode. Imagine zombies but virus infected horde mode would be cool. Also adding more deep customization of the created characters would be a huge improvement, instead of just color schemes, why not add in head, arm, legs, and body shape along with different vehicles you can become other than jet, car, or tank.

Those are it for the improvements from the first game, now to finish off with the addition

#1. Character specialties: Each transformer is well known for having some unique or cool ability about them. Imagine using Soundwave and being able to use his three cassette helpers in battle. Think how cool it would be if you were ratchet and can repair an ally while in the heat of battle. Having characters with fun abilities all to themselves would be a great addition, giving up tons of replay value.

#2. Branching paths: The levels are just straight through and linear, making us simply go in a perfect line from beginning to end. Adding branching paths along with vehicle modes, we can choose different paths that alter the way we clear a level, we can go guns blazing or take quite routes but filled with puzzles and platforming.

#3. Puzzles: one thing most games add is a sense of performing puzzles in order to gain access to information or progressing the level. Some can see them as slow downs but they are a great way of taking a breather from all the monotony of shooting up robots. Computer hack sections or environmental puzzles would be really cool.

#4. Secondary Co-op campaign: Now this is much like in Modern Warfare 2 Special Ops mode. Allowing two players to do special missions and get medals depending on how well they do.

#5. Skins: This is a must, there a many different variations of these classic characters. We have seen many generation of Transformer's, I think it is time that we see the G1 and many other classic looks....except the bay forms...those can stay away.

And those I hopefully we get to see in the coming game. We just got an announcement, nothing is official but I hope someone sees this and gets a few good ideas from it. If you got any ideas, toss them in, I like hearing what others think. Catch you all later ComicCritic87 OUT!!!

They should focus on making it better, lol.
