Well, the wait is over Conan fans. Deadline Hollywood has just reported that the barbaric hero will be played by none other than:

Jason Momoa!

It was said that Marcus Nispel, the remake's director, was sold on Momoa, who won over the filmmakers after shooting a few trial scenes. His ability to wield a sword and behave very Schwarzenegger-like dismissed their concerns.

The brawny Momoa, of Stargate: Atlantis fame, beat out other top contender Kellan Lutz for the role.

The film is slated to begin filming on May 15th in Bulgaria.
