Why there will be a GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2

My theory as to why Guardians of the Galaxy will be getting sequels as well as spinoff movies.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a movie I'm looking forward to. When the news first came out at the 2012 San Diego Comic Con that GOTG would have a spot in Phase 2 I was a bit skeptical, but now I trust that Marvel won't let their fans down.



A few months ago Joss Whedon, the director of Marvels The Avengers, revealed that Thanos was being saved for the big finale, Avengers 3. If Guardians of the Galaxy is being released in Phase 2 and Thanos won't be the villain till the end of Phase 3, then why not have GOTG in Phase 3? My prediction is that Marvel plans to have a sequel of Guardians of the Galaxy set in Phase 3 and build a franchise on this lesser known comic-book team.

Guardians of the Galaxy could birth more than just sequels. By introducing different characters and species in GOTG movies, Marvel could start spinoff franchises like Nova, The Inhumans, and Captain Marvel!

This is my theory for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Comment below which cosmic hero you'd like to see in an MCU film.

As long as I get Adam [frick]ing Warlock before or during Avengers 3, I'll be happy. He's been the character I've been lookin forward to them introducing ever since Thanos was revealed at the end of The Avengers.

It did start filming a week ago. Most of the cast has multi picture deals. There will be sequals if it even just breaks even at the box office. Marvels individual movies may not have all been great but the plan, the direction, is fantastic.

My guess would be - if the film is successfull enough to get a sequel : more Thanos and probably Adam Warlock in a GotG2 with Infinity Gauntlet culminating in Avengers 3.

I don't think there will be a GotG2 but I think it could set up spin-off cosmic films like the ones mentioned in the article (Nova, The Inhumans,Captain Marvel etc).

Certain GotG team members could then cameo in any of these films (in the manner of Black Widow or Nick Fury) to help link it in to the MCU and provide ongoing plot points across all the Phase 3 film.

Everyone teams up in 'The Avengers 3' to fight Thanos.

Its highly likely that there will be GotG2 and a NOVA movie before that (if the rumors are true that rhoman dey is in the GotG). The story they made will take it that way, plus Adam Warlock will most likely be introduced then if not in an after credit scene in GotG. So far they have only established the Avengers, now they're wanting to branch out and bring the audience the cosmic side, supernatural and eventually the street level sides of marvel.

Perhaps RR and Groot are not cast because voice acting will not be required until later? Just a guess.

Anyway, I just hope the FF reboot goes into development hell and Silver Surfer and Galactus can go back where they belong. There are so many possibilities with this movie now. Lee Pace as Ronan means Captain Marvel is a HUGE possibility. The inclusion of the Nova Corps (Eeek!) will open up to a possible Nova spin off, what with the inclusion of Rhomann Dey, the original Nova Prime. As well as that, where there's Thanos, there's Eros (his brother). Plus Inhumans due to their links with the Kree. And from what we've heard from that extra and the T:TDW prequel book, we'll be getting the Badoon. I hope the Chitauri are brought up.
And Enzo Cilenti's role is yet to be revealed, so maybe he's our Warlock. And whdere there's Warlock there's High Evolutionary and Pip the Troll... The scale this could expand to is TREMENDOUS!

Clearly this is my most anticipated movie ever.
