Doug Jones, who lent movement to Abe Sapien in the original Hellboy movie but not the voice, may use his vocal chords in the sequel, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

Frasier actor David Hyde Pierce did the voice of the amphibian adventurer in the first film. But Jones (who is also playing the Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four sequel) has voiced the character for the two Hellboy animated features, reports Comics Continuum.

"I think Guillermo (del Toro, director) always had David Hyde Pierce in mind," Hellboy creator Mike Mignola recently told fans. "We talked about Doug doing it. I think it was just something that he heard when he read the comic.

"I think it's very funny that it's Doug's body in one thing and it's his voice in another. And I believe that Doug is going to the voice in Hellboy 2," Mignola said.
