Back in 2017, news broke that a movie adaptation of Everett Hartsoe's cult comic series Razor was in the works at Number 11 Films, and now we have word on which actress has been cast in the lead role of Nicole Mitchell.
According to Deadline, The Gifted's Emma Dumont has landed the role of the eponymous vigilante. who witnesses her father and sister's murder as a young girl and vows revenge. The trauma lands her in a sanitarium for a decade in which time she develops her "superhero" identity.
The project is being helmed by XXX and The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen, who will also produce along with Jeff Most (The Crow).
"Emma is a renaissance woman,” said Cohen of the casting. “She’s a wonderful actress, a professional ballet dancer, and is currently getting her degree in Robotics Engineering. I have her training in Krav Maga and, believe me, there is nothing she can’t do.”
Dumont will also return as Polaris for the second season of The Gifted this fall.
