Good and Bad About the Upcoming Iron Man 2

Happy to see the return of a beloved character, sad to see the mix-up of an evil one.

I've seen that Iron Man 2 is considered the "hottest" movie of 2010. Temperature aside, I think this movie will turn out wonderfully. I love that we've heard rumors of a love triangle in the new movie. At first, I wasn't sure if it would be between Tony, Pepper, and another girl or between Tony, Pepper, and a man for Pepper. Obviously, considering Tony's wealth and lady-killing abilities, I thought it to be the first option. But after doing some research, showing I either A.) hadn't paid enough attention to the first movie, or B.) caught something some didn't, I saw a screenshot of Jon Favreau portraying Happy Hogan, Pepper Potts' eventual groom. So, I checked IMDB, and, sure enough, Jon Favreau is cast as "Hogan" in Iron Man 2. I'm personally really excited to see Happy in a movie. Lemme know how you feel about it and also inform me if everyone else knew about this before I did.
Now, for something I stumbled upon while doing my "Happy" research. My research might be terribly delayed, but I thought I'd share it with those who might have also missed this. IMDB casts Mickey Rourke as "Ivan Vanko/ Whiplash"... Ivan Vanko... Whiplash... Ivan Vanko.......... Whiplash??? Anton "Ivan" Vanko is the Crimson Dynamo! Not Whiplash! I must have misread the comics or the production team mixed up their villains. I couldn't tell you. Hopefully this movie will be so amazing that the mix-up won't be noticeable. Like in TDK when the Joker had scars and make-up rather than an extremely pale exterior with ruby red lips and green locks caused by chemicals. We all overlooked it because the movie was just epic. I think the reason we all liked it was that we left the theater with all of our questions answered. I hope IM2 presents us with a similar satisfaction.

I think the only bad thing about this movie is it is still 6 months away

Ya know, he also played happy in the first one. And I know i read somewhere that they were sort of mixing crimson dynamo and whiplash in this movie, hence the weird mechanical suit he wears.

Personally I think that if there is a love triangle it won't involve happy, if it were someone other than Favs playing him maybe but favs isn't about to make himself the center of attention. I think it's much more likely we'll see a triangle between the black widow, rdj and pepper, it just makes more sense to me.
And as the poster above me said, it's supposed to be a mash up of the two villains.

what if the love triangle is between Pepper, Happy, and BLACK WIDOW!?!?! lol hold your horses, let me explain. she's a spy right? well... maybe she tries to seduce Mr. Hogan and Pepper realizes this makes her jealous so there ya go. lol
Also, i'm not too incredibly familiar w/ the Iron Man comics but Ivan (Ooze :P) Vanko(m) (i love making puns and crap) sounds Russian, and I'm pretty sure Crimson Dynamo is Russian right? ... Rourke could not pull off a Russian accent to save his life. lol Just sayin. I think someone who didn't read the comics (like me) may have jumped the gun and assumed that Ivan Vanko is Whiplash. just from a misunderstanding.
thats my 2 cents.
ps. Why don't computer keyboards have a "cents" sign? jw

Pietro - You ain't mistaking for the comics, is was Anton who is Crimson. But, judging hollywood standards, it was best for them to switch it up a bit. So that means Rourkes character is taken, and will be replaced "if another Ironman movie" by the Boris Turgenev character. I know he was the second Dynamo, but of now seems their way of getting off to the third act. And to bring back Scarlets character (her relation with Boris) If not have two new characters along with The Mandarin. ;)

Good to have you back buddy.

And yeah they combined Whiplash and Crismon Dynamo in this one. i read that Rourke went and lived in a Russian prison for a few months to get into character. He also learned Russian, so he has an accent.

of course the triangle will be between widow and pepper. in the comics, he's banged both down to a nub.

My only real concern is that they're still referring to Black Widow as "Natalie". I know voice coaching did nothing for Scarlett's singing career, but if she's not Russian in this movie and they have her cast only because she looks good in tight vinyl (and she does) I'm going to be disappointed.

IMDB has her listed as Natasha Romanov, I might yet be more annoyed
