Urban has spoken about Dredd on a few occasions now, and we already know that this version will be much darker, grittier and faithful to the comics than the Stallone film, but he hasn't really talked about the plot too much. We did get a look at the (supposedly) leaked script synopsis a while back, and that said that the story would be something similar to 16 Blocks.
Now while taking to Collider, Urban reveals exactly what we are in for..
"Its going to be gritty, hardcore, realistic(he reiterates) and its essentially a day in the life of Dredd as he puts his rookie through her paces."
Violence? Offers Bruce Willis who is also doing the interview)
Much says Urban.
Nice! Said rookie is going to be Judge Anderson and played by Olivia Thirlby. In the comic she is a Psi Judge(physic powers) but its unknown if that will be carried over to the movie. Be sure to click the link over to Collider to check out the full video interview with plenty of
Red talk.
Dredd is directed by Pete Travis and will hit theaters in 2012.
