JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Amy Adams Elaborates On Recent Comments That She's Finished With The DCEU

Recently, Lois Lane actress Amy Adams made remarks which seemingly pointed to her no longer being part of the DCEU, but has now clarified her comments. The question is, does her future remain uncertain?

During a recent roundtable interview, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League star Amy Adams said that the DC Universe is being revamped and pointed out that she's more than likely no longer part of this shared world as a result.

Now, Adams has attempted to clarify those remarks by noting that while her future is uncertain, she doesn't know what Warner Bros. has planned for Lois Lane, Superman, or any other DC Comics characters for that matter. "You know what's funny? I actually don't know," she said.

"I haven't had any official conversation with anybody. I was just talking with Nicole Kidman about it, and I was like, 'Oh, I guess I've got to be careful what I say!' But yeah, I haven't had any word officially."

For months now, rumours have been swirling about what comes next for both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in the DCEU and all the signs are sadly pointing to them no longer playing Batman and Superman. After the critical pounding the last couple of movies they starred in received, it's easy to see why they might want to move on at this point in their respective careers.

I hope she’s come back. Always liked her.

There is no need for her to comment. It's just people with their questions ultimately just trying to get some cred. The official statements are made when they are meant to be made (for the most part).

So is she still the key?

I know we joke about Marvel having snipers on its actors and actresses, but you think DC sends enforcers whenever theyre actors/actresses says something that sounds bad? Im imagining 1950s mob enforcers going to Amy Adams house breaking stuff as a warning to stay quiet lol!!! (I kid of course but tell me that doesnt intrigue ya)

@MrCamw1 - considering how many rumours and stuff gets leaked at WB I'm guessing their enforcers are shite 😂😭

@MrCamw1 - I think WB isn't actually all that organized most of the time. Yes, if an actor goes majorly off the reservation, someone will call them or their agent or something. But most of the time, it seems like the only interaction the actors have with the studio is when they're renegotiating their contracts or whatever it is Ben Affleck is doing on any given Tuesday.

The one time I think WB put out an "enforcement" type message to their creatives was after Ayers shouted [frick] Marvel to a crowd and it's clear that a hammer came down for people to be civil (on Marvel's side too). Remember how Ezra Miller seemed paralyzed when someone asked him to sign something Marvel related one time. It seemed to me like he got a message he didn't fully understand and didn't know how to navigate the situation, so just backed away.

@TMP - That might explain the weirdness, but he seemed very aware of crossing some kind of DC/Marvel line. Around this same time Mackie pulled way back on his shit-talking (maybe even saying "I'm not supposed to...") so I do believe there was communication between the studios to keep people in line because it had gotten out of hand.

She doesn't know because WB doesn't know. They're just gonna keep her stringing along......dangling on a hook ....until they count up how much money Aquaman, Shazam and WW84 make before they announce a Superman movie and then we'll all hear the "hey.....this was always the plane.....Cavill, Adams, Fishburne etc were never out of the DCEU" .

Without a Superman film in the pipeline, there’s no reason she would be involved in anything. Her salary for playing the character a 4th time is probably high enough to make a cameo in some other DC franchise a pointless expense.

Once DC fully commits to a new take on Batman, I think that openly discussing a new take one Superman and Lois won’t be too far behind.

@Chewtoy - A well-conceived DC shared universe could easily use Lois Lane as a conduit for connections, similar to Nick Fury in the MCU. Having Lois ambush-interview Bruce Wayne at some event. Having her as a guest on Vic Sage's show. Maybe as a rival for Iris West, or a foil for Max Lord.

Obviously nobody wants that with this particular Lois Lane (because the consensus is she's not a good Lois no matter how much we all love Amy Adams and her character got taken to the woodchipper in the movies she's already appeared in), but in theory she could be a really useful character to have on-hand.

No plans for Superman mean no plans for Lois.

To be fair, Amy Adams really got the short end of the stick. She didn't deserve to play a character who is simply part damsel in distress and part walking plot device.

I like some of her work in other movies, but thought she was miscast as Lois. Margo Kidder looked and felt more like Lois. The studio will hopefully retain Henry Cavill as Superman and go in another direction for Lois and Luthor.

Wonderful actress, but jot a good fit for Lois. At least, the material never allowed her to fit.
