This year's D23 Expo gets underway next Friday, and Marvel Studios is expected to make some massive Phase 5 (and possibly even 6) announcements. We still don't know for sure which movies and shows will be showcased, but we may now have some idea of the starry array of talent Kevin Feige and co. have lined up to star in them.
Radio broadcaster Emmet Kennedy has Tweeted out the names of some of actors he has it on good authority have been enlisted to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it makes for very interesting reading.
Kennedy believes this group will be officially welcomed to the MCU during the D23 panel, with some of them appearing on stage.
Krasinski played Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so it's not exactly a surprise to see his name here. Likewise Esposito, who has strongly hinted that he's been in talks with the studio in the past. There have been whispers that Cavill may have taken a meeting or two (this would likely mean his tenure as Superman is at an end), but this is the first time we've seen the likes of John Boyega, Jodie Comer and Denzel Washington mentioned in connection with the superhero franchise.
There's always a chance Kennedy has been sent inaccurate info, of course, but it's just as likely he's jumped the gun here and may not be aware of how trigger-happy the notorious Marvel snipers are these days!
Put it this way, if the Tweet is deleted, it's almost certainly on the level.
Assuming it is, who do you think these guys have been brought in to play? Will they be filling out the ranks of the X-Men and Fantastic Four, perhaps? Be sure to drop us a comment in the usual spot, and keep an eye out for updates as we have 'em.
