Men in Black International has taken a beating from critics over the past 24 hours, and it now holds the dubious honour of being the worst-reviewed instalment in the long-running franchise.

Despite being helmed by Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray, it seems as if he simply couldn't hold this one together and this marks the latest in a long line of critical flops for Sony Pictures. Not even the dynamic of Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson has helped matters, which is definitely a surprise.

Why? Well, based on 102 reviews, it MiB International has a score of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to the Critics Consensus, it's "Amiable yet forgettable, MiB International grinds its stars' substantial chemistry through the gears of a franchise running low on reasons to continue."

With a budget of only $110 million, the movie stands a chance of turning a profit despite a franchise-low opening weekend of $40 million. The original 1997 movie has a score of 92%, while the sequel received 39%. The third instalment, meanwhile, got as high as 68% despite being mostly forgettable.

Will you guys be watching Men in Black International this weekend?
