FitzMac - What Exactly Is Going On Here?

FitzMac - What Exactly Is Going On Here?

So... in the last few episodes we've seen Fitz and Mack grow closer to each other and forming a bromance type of thing...

I actually like this idea and the on-screen dynamic between the two, but in episode 5 Fitz and HeadSimmons kind of teased something more... er, personal... This is why I say bromance, because there is a difference between a friendship and a bromance. Any guy knows that.

I would love the show to explore this angle some more, as 1) I think Mack is incredibly goodlooking and 2) Fitz is adorable, but the MCU has a bad record when it comes to LGBT characters & relationships. In the short All Hail The King and Guardians of the Galaxy (ugh) they did the prison b*tch thing, and the brilliant character of Victoria Hand (lesbian) was killed off. So, if they do this, they need to do it right.

Fitz should not be distracted by the return of Simmons anyway, because it seems that the show has gone back to the TrippSimmons (Simlett?) shipping. Anyway, is it too early to start shipping Fitzmac?

On a related note, should the show fix Fits or show him learning to deal with his handicap?

I must say... I'd be glad if MAoS had a same sex couple. Because Marvel doesn't have much characters LGBT. Much less in the MCU.
I think it could work great, since Joss Whedon is involved (he did a amazing job with Willow in Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
Victoria Hand could be a amazing example, but they even revealed about her sexuality.

In the (horrible) Guardians movie, the other prisoners made the "fresh meat" jokes when everyone was in the mess hall, and then Groot did the branch-thing which was so cool.

Willow was a great character, and I would love a homosexual or bisexual relationship on the show. Victoriaa Hand was a great character on the show with a lot of potential, and I really wanted them to do H.A.M.M.E.R. on the show... if only Ward had iced her...

I want Fitz to be back to normal, but having a strong handicapped character on the show would actually be amazing, like the deaf Hawkeye in the comics.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
But I'd really, really love to see a romance between these two. Fitz is so adorable and Mack is really kind and decent. And when they talked about ex partners, Mack's was the only one who didn't get a gender. So here's some hope...

I don't understand, you all want a homosexual relationship in Agents of Shield just because? Yeah the two seem to get along but that isn't necessarily sexual and like someone else mentioned Fitz is clearly in love with Simmons, so it would seem forced. I don't actively want a homosexual relationship in AoS because I feel like that is vaguely sexist, the same way including one black person in a movie to fill a quota or be more pc. If a homosexual relationship develops naturally in AoS I'm all for it, but don't shove it in there to please the homosexual audience, that kind of stuff is pandering at best, sexism at its worst.
If anybody should be gay its Triplett, who has yet to take advantage of Simmons clear affection toward him. That would make sense and evolve naturally from the story and I would not be insulted by that. You would think most of the LGBT community would not want Fitz and Mack to hook up because of the argument made by most that you are born gay. If that was the case than Fitz loving Simmons but hooking up with Mack wouldn't make sense because if your gay your born that way irreversibly. You could argue men get married and have kids then realize they are gay all the time but I would submit Fitz love for Simmons is real, not some cover up for homosexual feelings.
Having a gay or bisexual person on the "bus" would be odd too, just because if they reveal a characters homosexuality it would have to be addressed, not just a throwaway mention. This is a show about secret agents, not about people hooking up. The Fitz Simmons will they or won't they is already not what the show should be about. If anything the sexual preferences of the characters should be left out entirely to leave more room for stories about them being agents. One of my major gripes with the show is the amount of time spent with th characters not being secret agents.
The current show formula seems to be,
Episode starts with everyone hanging around on the "bus" dealing with their personal problems, until they find some threat and react to it with as much personal drama as possible.
The formula should be,
Episode starts with agents dealing with threat in the field and through the episode you figure out what their mission is with as little personal drama as possible because after all your PROFFESSIONAL SECRET AGENTS not each other's therapists.

OK so I've posted my personal thoughts on Guardians of the Galaxy in the review section... As you can guess, a lot of backlash going on. This was my personal view of the movie, feel free to check it out. I know a lot of people enjoyed it and some of them thought it was the best MCU movie yet - I'm not one of those people. But freedom of speech & all that...

Anyway, I like the friendship going on between Fitz & Mack at the moment, and it seems he & Simmons won't get along for a while... Whatever ends up happening, I hope that friendship keeps going.
