"I'm Gonna Get Crucified" says Alleged Wolverine Leaker

I am only a scapegoat, so he says....

The reported Leaker of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Gilberto Sanchez told that the copy he had was bought from a street peddler, but he admits in uploading it to a file sharing-site. Which cause Fox execs to star of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, to experienced varying sets of emotions from shock to condemnation to disappointment. Sanchez has expressed that he doesn't intent to fight the charges against him.

He doesn't have any plans also to face with Jackman even with an invitation in "The Late show with David Letterman."

"No, thanks. I’m not going to sit next to Wolverine,” Sanchez said. “That’s a setup.”

“I’m a scapegoat for this,” said Sanchez during the interview. “I’m gonna get crucified.”

I myself is not approved of Piracy, and I really want to enjoy the films on how they were intended to be shown.

I love Hugh Jackman as wolverine. i really do, i want him to play the character in every movie he possibly can!
But this movie was not good and i for one am glad i did not spend money on it. i was greatful to watch the bootleg so $10 of my money didn't go to supporting this crap. but i can still be a stupid fanboy and whine and bitch about the movie you know why.... because i saw it:) im glad the bootleg came out because FOX can blame the low box office take on that and rightfully green light the sequel. (even tho if the movie was that good people would've went to the theatre to go see it anyway) a sequel that would not be getting made, imo, if the movie wasn't leaked, thus giving them an excuse why the numbers were lower than expected.
if this guy were to 'face off against wolverine' i'm sure Hugh would say something like "so you like taking money out of the pockets of people who worked so hard on this film and pay thier mortgages based off the money this movie makes?"
and my reply would be "so you think fox has the right to bastardize cherished characters in an attempt to make what could've been a great film? you think people should have to pay money for a slapped together story with no driving force behind any of the narrative?"
Fox [frick]ed up the X-men so bad they had it coming.

That's a shame. This dude is hero for stopping me from paying for that terrible 4th wolverine movie. In the end though I guess it didn't matter, Wolverine made over 300 million, and Fox continues it's reign of terror

Sanchez is a hero. he saved millions of people from disappointment. after seeing it online first i went into the theater with low expectations. If it wasn't for Sanchez i would have been so shocked and disappointed at how bad the movie was i probably would have left with tears running down my face, suicidal.

Sanch, you're the real hero. god speed.

i still believe it was an enjoyable movie, i thing sometimes fans are too critical. overall i enjoyed the movie. it wasn't great or anything, but it's something i bought on DVD and i'll probably watch over again. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, and i can't wait for the next installment. :D

and Sanchez isn't a hero, i wouldn't say that. :/

I saw the bootleg & was thinking,
"This has to be a fake. It's a joke!
This can't be the original copy of the movie
that'll be released in theaters."
So I went & watched it in theaters.
Yeah. It sucked even more!
This movie was a piece of crap.
Story was retarded. Special effects were cheap.
At the end of the day a good movie has a great story
that can carry the movie w/ or w/o special effects.
I wish I hadn't seen it in theaters & wasted $10.25!

I hope this guy chokes on the man-juice he is forced to gurgle in prison.

LEEE, your an asshole! And I'm not trying to be funny. Seriously, what kind of CBM fan are you that you would at ANY point condone some jackass splattering a CBM all over the internet weeks prior to it's release. Not a very good or sincere fan I take it.

longbowhunter, really? So you honestly think that an incomplete copy of a movie hitting the internet 2 weeks prior to the movies actual release has no effect on its ticket sales... that has to be one of the most ignorant observations I've seen in a looooong time dude. You need to rethink that comment cause the fact is that there is no way it couldn't effect ticket sales. For every asshole fan-boy on this site that says, "Thanks for saving me the ten bucks seeing this in theaters Mr. Movie Pirate." I bet there are 100 people who came to the same conclusion and didn't go see it after seeing the FREE version they snagged online. In short, it is pure idiocracy to hold the opinion that the leak did not effect ticket sales.

Roscoe182 - 1/13/2010, 3:45 AM
well i downloaded mine an i though this cant be the film its god awful he wuda saved me money only if my girlfriend didnt make me go see it ( i really did put up a fight not to see it aswell )

it affectd sales but so did the fact it wasa crap film i would of had no problrm paying to see this film had it been worth the money oh wait i did an it still sucked wolverine has been the only CBM movie iv downloded just cus i cudnt wait .. glad i didnt fans are angry about this film and you cant blame it on the fact it was out 2 weeks early
TheMyth
TheMyth - 1/13/2010, 4:18 AM
Roscoe, that is undeniably true as well. I am not arguing the whether the movie is good or not, as I simply see it as mediocre. If it had been an epic movie then the leak would have done nothing to it. Take SM3 for example... would you have paid to see that horse shit had you seen it online for free prior to it's theatrical release? I took about 8 people with me to see SM3, not a damn one of them gave a poo about comics and would have waited for the DVD without my urging. Had I seen it for free on my computer at home before hand, I not only would have said "[frick] that movie" but I'd discouraged those same people from wasting their money, the ones who didn't give a poo either way to begin with. Movie tickets are $8.50 where I live, multiplied by 9, $76.50 is what the theater got from my group in just ticket sales for SM3, no telling how much more for drinks and goodies. 76 bucks in ticket sales from just one person prematurely viewing the film without paying. Now imagine that effect spread across the globe... Now sure, if it had been a better movie, it would've done better, but don't you generally have to pay to find out if it's any good or not. I mean, it is a product payed for to be created by a company. When you buy your comics, the cash goes to making sure more comics get made right? If everyone just STOLE comics off the stands, there wouldn't be much of an incentive for any company to produce them. When you STEAL a movie by downloading it you help to create the same paradox. I for one hope they continue to see incentive for making these movies so they are inclined to continue making them. If that means eating a spoon full of crow in exchange for the magnificence of "Watchmen" then so be it. You gotta break eggs for an omelet. Roscoe, this has turned into a rant and is in no way aimed at you.

Personally, If you watch any CBM without paying for it, you do NOT have the right to call yourself a CBM fan, or a comic fan for that matter. A fan would want to see more get made and would avoid taking actions that would jeopardize that opportunity, no matter how small.
breakUbatman
breakUbatman - 1/13/2010, 4:46 AM
I agree with some of what you say Myth but I watched Wolverine on the big screen and I wish I had downloaded it. I dont see why CBM fans have to be happy with sub par viewing in the hopes that something good will come along eventually. I shouldnt be expected to support another American Pie movie just so I can eventually get Tropic Thunder or Pineapple express

Leaks happen all the time and people are always watching downloads. I've watched many a movie at the big screen on the recommendation of people who watch bootlegs. If the movie was good word of mouth would have gotten outa and people would have gone to see it over and over again.
TheMyth
TheMyth - 1/13/2010, 5:16 AM
BreakUbatman, your right in the sense that we don't have to be happy with sub-par adaptations, but neither do we have to steal to make our point. Downloads do indeed happen all the time, but that doesn't change the fact that you are taking something that doesn't belong to you without the permission of its owner regardless of the fact that it is digital. I'm not militaristic on this fact outside of the comic genre. I listen to music downloads all the time before buying an album, but I don't have any connections to music as I do to comics. Comics are more personal to me and that is what makes me a fan. A fan takes the bad with the good and respects it all for what it is. You don't have to like certain things that happen from time to time, but how would you gauge the epic moments without the flawed ones. Anyone who has read a monthly series of a mainstream superhero/team could recite many a moment they disagreed with within said series, but I bet they didn't start stuffing the issues under their shirt and walking out of the shop as a result. I hold the film adaptations no different in regard, in fact, I go to see every CBM in theater's even if I don't like the character unless extraordinary circumstances prevent. I loathe Superman, but I dished out the cash to see Superman Returns to show my support for CBM's. I don't expect every comic and CBM fan to do this, but I do expect every comic and CBM fan to show their support for whatever they view or collect by paying for it.

i liked the bootleg more, seeing the occasional green screen and wires and little green slits where the claws should be was awesome, the finished product not so much. i kept thinking they should make a movie like the bootleg where we can see all the wires and with really bad cgi, would be awesome and add a hilarious twist to a movie.

@Kenny38606

This is the reason, the Hacker Manifesto:

This is our world now... the world of the electron and the switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn’t run by profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... and you call us criminals. We seek after knowledge... and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it’s for our own good, yet we’re the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive me for.

I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual, but you can’t stop us all... after all, we’re all alike.

Wow what a bunch of stone tossers we've become. first off how do we know the movie company didn't release it them selves ( maybe they wanted to weigh the level of suck it was about to unleash ) any time we see a movie up for an award before it gets released it gets given out to other actors and actresses to review I know this from seeing boot leg movies with the time counter blurred out or the courtesy print that shows up sporadically, second who in there right mind puts something valuable down and walks away from it not expecting it to disappear so get the dumb ass who left it out to get stolen and third the guy didn't do it to make money seeders don't see a dime for an upload, and third if you ever had a mix tape, a collage dubbed anime or a burned cd close your word hole cause your no better than the man your condemning.

Ps. I have a ten year old son who is still pissed at the movie for what they did to dead pool!

@faust: dude i am a struggling musician forced to do a 9-5er to make ends meet, i use no file sharing or downloading at all as i can not support a system that abuses the arts as i said. if fox leaked it who cares fox is retarded and often screws up everything they get thier grubby little mits on, they are hypocrites and money grabbers so not sure how that helps your argument. it does not matter AT ALL if the movie sucked. illegal downloading is crap. and yeah the dude wouldn't make any money doing it. dude most people who do stupid things don't get paid. hence they are stupid

@talontd: hacker manifesto? all that reads to me is a computer geek (hope no-one takes offence ;) lol) justifing thier actions like idiot kids who get into gangs (not the real ones, you know the kind, idiot suburan kids with too much time on their hands and no brains in their heads). it even says yes i am a criminal. can anyone please name something good that ever came out of hacker culture that contributed to society at all? - if some one says the movie hackers i'd have to punch them in their digital kidneys-

truth be told some laws i agree with, some i don't.
theft is theft and if some one stole my song or my film because they feel it should be free for whatever reason should not count themselves a fan of the arts in any form

yes we live in the digital age, but money makes our world go round as much as i hate that fact its true. We are all corporate slaves , bound within our "civilized" society. lets make the best of it by not killing what little creativity exists among the fluff, varied opinons and fickle corprate heads who see only profit

woooah i just blacked out, what did i just write? i need a soda
