In an Ideal world, there would be an Avengers vs Justice League Film!

We have seem some bad Crossover films in recent years (AVP,Jason v Freddy) But could a Avengers V JL Film be the next Lord of the Rings trilogy?!

Ever since they did the Marvel/DC crossover series years ago, I've been itching to see it brought to the screen. I think the concept definitely has potential. It would appeal to fans of both super-teams, and there's bound to be great interaction between the counterpart heroes of each universe (i.e. Batman & Ironman, Superman & Thor), as well as the villains (I can very well imagine Lex Luthor and Loki forging an alliance to conquer both teams... while planning to stab each other in the back.

Unlike the past cross-overs from other films, were they have crammed so much into one film like Freddy v Jason and AVP.....well AVP tried to cram lots into 2 films and both ended up being shit. If the JL and Avengers was to be done it should be done as one long trilogy similar to Lord of the rings and Matrix.

Having the trilogy means would mean Screen time for all the characters would be a lot easier then trying to get 10 of our favourite supers into a 140 min film, origins could be brought in a bit better.

The marketing would be so easy for the film as well, The internet from Rival Marvel and DC fans would be bigger then ever.

Once again there is no way in hell that this would ever be done which is Sad as its a win win for all involved, but let us hope.

What are your thoughts on seeing the two brands on the big screen? What story line would they go for?

@Levitikuz Thanks for my spelling mistake, I amended that. Yeah i never in a million years would see this film being made the only chance as a low risk effort would be an animated film if terms were agreed. It would be awesome to see and again it would be a win win situation for everyone, Lets hope Stan Lee's has his dying wish to make it happen.

While I would love to see this movie, to much could go wrong, and some fanboys will always end up butthurt. I would still prefer a fighting game crossover. That would be epic and less contriversial, because you would have no difinitive winners. Could you imagine the amount of whining you would hear when the matchups didnt go the way they wanted. The never ending war between Marvel and DC fans would be turned up to levels we have never seen before. There would be fist fights in the theaters, between cosplayers dress up like thor and superman. It would boil out into the street, and fat wolvie would be swinging homemade claws at fat batman. Civilization would fall when the butthurt marvel fan, tries to blow up the wb water tower, and the butthurt dc fan took mickey hostage. It would be riots in the streets, when the punisher fan drags the guy with a deathstroke tattoo out of his truck, and hits him with a brick. The trekkies and the star wars nuts, will go into hiding as the police crack down on all of nerdom.

Shit I must have to much time on my hands.

In actual fact Screw making a JL/Avengers movie, make a film about a geek war between the two rival Fans, now that would be a Fanboy film....Kevin Smith to direct it though.

These kinds of movies always suck. For a start, the story is never worth making into a film. I mean, what would the plot be? How would the two teams end up in the same universe? Why would they just start fighting? And, obviously, it'd end in some form of tie, because they wouldn't want to piss off one companies fans by making the other team win.

I literally despise the idea of a Marvel/DC crossover, because they're two distinct entities.

The concept of Freddy vs Jason just about worked, because they could plausibly inhabit the same universe, so it wasn't too much of a stretch, and the plot was that of a completely mindless pop-corn flick. AVP and AVPII tried to include a plot, but they both sucked any way because they were pointless movies - they didn't need to be made, the idea of the Aliens and the Predators was confusing in that it was cool seeing them together, but you ultimately feel they don't belong together in the same universe. And the Avengers and Justice League don't belong in a universe together.

And what would the point in a trilogy be? There's barely enough plot for one movie, let alone three. Is it just to give each character their share of screen time?

There are so many cons to an Avengers vs Justice League movie: too many characters, no plausible story-line, no proper ending without offending half the audience... I honestly think it'd make CBMs a joke again. It'd be worst for the genre than Batman & Robin was.

It could work as a fighting game. I'm not a fan of them myself, but it's the only way that works. For starters, the lack of plot wouldn't be a problem as those games tend to be very story-light. Plus, as @fortycals said the player decides who wins at the end, meaning no offended audience. Plus, there's the bonus of replayability - you complete the game with one team and unlock one ending, then replay with the other team and get another ending.

I doubt a movie will ever happen. As far as games go, NetherRealm Studios is the only company fit for a good between not just Avengers vs Justice League but Marvel vs DC. Cause you do more than just fight lol there's an actual story mode to it and what not. Only NetherRealm would be able to give us the epic potential it has.

NR would make an epic game, but in an ideal world, NR teams up with capcom to make it. NR handles the story, capcom handles the gameplay, and they both handle the art. It would have epic written all over it.

Yeah they kinda did it with the StarWars/trekkies in the movie called fanboys. I would love to see one for the more underrated diehards, marvel/dc fanboys. Has alot of potential hillarity.

@fortycals: That's your ideal world. In my ideal world, it's all NR. I can't stand Capcoms fighting games.
