To wrap by looking forward, now that the Publishing division is off of your shoulders, what are you most excited about accomplishing with Marvel in 2011?

There's too much stuff to list, and so much of it is still in the developmental stages, so I wouldn't be able to talk about it anyway. What I can say is that the things on my "To do" list extend way beyond 2011, just as they did on my list when it was only publishing. It's an amazing new world here at Marvel, we have so many incredible doors that have opened up to us, but even I'm floored at how quickly and smoothly things are happening. Not a week goes by where I'm not floored by some new opportunity that has come our way. The toughest part for me is keeping it all bottled up inside.

But, the one thing I can talk about is what the future looks like for our creators. If you look down the line -- and Dan Buckley's been instrumental in this, as has been Alan Fine -- you will see that more and more of our comic creators have been getting involved in the Marvel stuff outside of the comics world. And that's as it should be. Back in the day, so many of us in the creative community would sit back and watch someone produce a TV show or a movie based on a comic book and see it flop miserably because those people didn't understand what made those characters work. We'd sit there going, "Why didn't they hire comic book people?" Well, that's what Marvel is doing. Slowly but surly, you'll be seeing names you recognize getting involved in other aspects of Marvel Entertainment. Just look at the "Ultimate Spider-Man" animated show we're working on. The creative team consists of Brian Bendis, Paul Dini and Men of Action. We'll be announcing some more stuff down the road, too, with more comic book folks. So stay tuned, it's going to be fun.

Hawksblueyes: This is not the first time we have heard someone from Marvel mention this but it sure seems like something they want the fans to be completely aware of.

That's certainly been one of my complaints about DC, although it's been a little more specific than that: I cannot for the life of me understand why they would not allow the creators of the animated shows to take a crack at the live action films. It's obvious that they know the material better than the novices.

Great find, Hawks. Certainly has my imagination fired up.

This is exactly what they need to be doing, and more than likely the reason why every single Marvel Studios movie has been a million times better than what the likes of Fox are producing. Great find HAWKS - DC could do with learning from this judging by their insistence of keeping all their characters seperate...an insane thing to do considering they hold ALL the rights. They don't deserve them when we've got to put up with stuff like Spider-Man 3 and Fantastic Four.

Ditto to Ed's comment. I have been shocked by how much I've liked some of the DC animated stuff, considering I generally just don't find some characters interesting. There animated stuff manages to make the characters more likable and engaging than the comics or the live action films!

This is the way it needs to be! Let the comics guys have a say in the way the movies should be! If they can make cbms as close to the source material without being too campy, they will all turn out great!

I've heard this before but it's always nice to hear again,Bendis and Dini being involved in the ultimate spidey definitely makes it worth watching, Brubaker should write the script for Cap sequel, but he should DEFINITELY do the script for Iron Fist and let matt fraction have crack at the script for IM3. One complaint I have against marvel is there animated movie's when compared to DC have not been that great, that's why they should use Paul Dini as much as possible.

Great find Hawks

Thanks guys. This is just plain old, run of the mill common sense if you ask me. I don't understand not only why DC still hasn't figured it out but why it took Marvel so long.
