If J. Jonah were really alive, he'd probably be having a coronary on Friday.

As comic fans are well aware, this year is Spider-Man's fiftieth anniversary, and if there was ever a guy that deserved a kickin' party to help take his mind off of things, Peter Parker is 100% that guy.

Katherine Oliver, Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, had this to say about the special occasion:

“We are thrilled to welcome Comic-Con back to New York this year and especially excited to celebrate the birthday of a real New Yorker, Spider-Man! Over the years, Spider-Man has helped showcase the best of what New York has to offer our friends in entertainment, and New York Comic Con is an opportunity to see just how many other creative minds are using this great city for inspiration and as a backdrop for their stories.”

Oliver, accompanied by Spidey and Captain America, will be the one making the special announcement at 10am on Friday, which will probably be something along the lines of honoring the Webhead with a "SPIDER-MAN DAY," or some such.

That sound you hear? That's just J. Jonah Jameson ripping through the walls of his own fictional existence in a desperate bid to try and stop MARVEL, Hallmark and the Office of the Mayor of New York before it's too late...
