Playstation Store Digital Comics Update (Feb 17)

DC Online Universe Legends continue this week with day & date issue #2! In the startling second issue, the Lex Luthor of a post-apocalyptic future scrambles to escape Brainiac’s invasion of Earth, but he must gather an army to stop the invasion. Who will he recruit?

Artemis Zogg’s warship has been destroyed, but the battle isn’t over for Ratchet & Clank, in issue #6 of the comic series featuring the iconic video-games characters. The duo will once again have to team up with President Qwark in this final, fun-filled issue!

Locke & Keys: Keys to the Kingdom continues with issue #4, where our heroes find out that working with a dead man can have some terrifying consequences as they embark on their most perilous raid ever. For those who haven’t given it a try, Locke & Key is a truly great series mixing horror, a gripping thriller storyline by Joe Hill, and beautiful art by Gabriel Rodriguez.

ComicBookMovie.com and Best Little Sites was the brainchild of Nate and a friend way back in 2002. Nate initially focused on the back-end programming and front-end design, but now manages the company and its associated sites as well, with a LOT of help from some very talented contributors.

Nate has loved comics from a very young age and continues to read them on a regular basis thanks to subscriptions to various titles (both Marvel and DC). He also loves movies, as his wife and children will attest. He's not overly critical of movies, so his reviews should be taken with a grain of salt as he's much more interested in being entertained and escaping the "real" world for a couple of hours than finding every conceivable plot-hole and character flaw in a film.

Outside of his guilty "nerdy" pleasures, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, CrossFit, playing guitar, coaching youth sports and MMA (he spent a couple of years in the cage as an NHB fighter, but is now MUCH too old).

This is such an excellent way to continue the killing of the back-issue market, and the slow death of the comic shops.

CBArtist @ That is true but its cool though!

I think the biggest killing of the back-issue market and slow death of comic shops is the ridiculous prices of comic books these days...

A huge rip-off, I prefer TRADES these days instead, u have to be a millionaire to buy all your favorite comic books every month!

Shame though.

It's funny but I used to collect comics as a kid and took some pride in my collection. Now days with the introduction of digital comics a collection is just a bunch of data. I think there is a very big part of the overall comic book experience missing. Nothing like getting the book, opening it and reading page by page in your hand. I guess it's just the sign of the times. I really don't see how local shops are going to survive. Kind of like arcades in the 80's (I know I'm old!!!). I remember a time when if you wanted to play a video game you had to go to the arcade and flip in your 25 cents (yeah they were that cheap back then). Then the home consoles came and it pretty much killed them.

I think I must be old too because I just don't understand the attraction to digital comics/books... Am I old fashioned because I like actually holding a book and putting it up on the shelf when I'm done?

That being said, I tend to wonder how popular digital comics are on the PS3... I'm the only one in my entire family and network of friends that owns one...

I'm with you. You get a real feeling of ownership when you have a real book and your not SOL if your hard drive fails.
