GP: Activision's new Spider-Man: Edge of Time games blends the world of the Amazing Spiderman and Spiderman 2099 . What are your thoughts on how Spider-Man has evolved with different universes over the years?
SL: Well, we've had to do that. The one thing you try to do is not get in a rut and the people at Marvel, and at Activision, too have been so clever about getting different versions of Spider-Man and different personas for Spider-Man. I think it's terrific.
GP: What do you think of your Peter Parker dying, at least temporarily, in this new game?
SL: Well, you said the key word: temporarily. Or else I'd be very distraught, and I'd be too shaken to talk to you any further.
GP: What was it like to see yourself in Activision's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game?
SL: It was wonderful. I just wish I had a bigger role. I have to talk to them about that next time.

GP: What do you think about Marvel's Amazing Spider-Man movie reboot, which will be making its debut at Comic Con this year?
SL: Oh, I just hope it does fabulously. See again you can't keep doing the same thing over and over, just getting a different villain all the time. You have to pique the audience's interest by having something new, unique and different that they haven't seen before; that's what we're doing.
GP: And will people be able to see you in a cameo?
SL: Oh, my cameo is the only reason...it's the main reason they go. I'm sure you realize that. I have a great one in this movie. Very dramatic. I'll probably win an award.
GP: What do you think stereoscopic 3D has added to movies like Thor, Captain America , and the upcoming Spider-Man?
SL: Well, I think anything we can do to make the film more exciting and more unique and let the audience feel they're looking at something they haven't seen before is an improvement. On a personal basis, I'm just happy with a good story. I don't care if the movie is in black and white. I follow the story, but I think that 3D and stereoscopic stuff and all of that, the more they do with it the better because it piques the excitement of the audience.
GP: What's it like for you to finally see The Avengers movie become a reality?
SL: Oh, I was expecting it. After Spider-man and the Hulk and the Fantastic Four and Daredevil and Ironman, I just knew it had to be the Avengers next and Captain America and who knows what else.
GP: Do you have a favorite superhero character?
SL: No, it used to be whichever one I was writing at the moment. But I love them all.
GP: At Comic-Con, Gazillion will be revealing new details on the Marvel Online MMO video game, which will allow players to become Hulk and Captain America and Iron Man and all the other superheroes. What do you think the Marvel Online game will open up when it comes to allowing thousands of people to interact in a video game world?
SL: Well, it will just make those thousands of people more and more interested in these characters and it will make additional millions of people want to join with those thousands of people. The more of this that's done, the more this just increases the popularity of these type of characters, so obviously I'm all for it.
GP: When it comes to all these video games you've been involved with, have you ever sat down and tried to play any of them?
SL: I'm not good at it at all. I tried once and I was with a guy who created the Hulk game and he said, "Come on, play it with me." And he was in there manipulating the characters, making them run and jump and leap and fight, and I'm sitting there thinking, "If I push this button the arm will go here and if I do..." And before I knew it the game was over and I hadn't made my first move yet.
