Mark Hamill Shares His Thoughts On Episode VIII Being Titled STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

With the official title for Episode VIII now out of the bag, Mark Hamill can breathe a huge sigh of relief that he didn't spoil it beforehand. "It's got a real samurai [feel]," said Hamill of the title.

Mark Hamill has revealed that he's known the official title for Episode VIII for quite some time, as director Rian Johnson revealed it during filming.  However, Hamill wished the Looper director had kept it too himself, since he's so bad at keeping secrets.  "He told me that when we were making the movie and I said, 'Don't tell me these things. I talk in my sleep,'" Hamill told the Associated Press.  he added,  "They have us so jacked up with paranoia over leaks. But that's the way of the world. It's funny 'cause back when we were making the original nobody cared."

As far as what he thinks of the title, Hamill likens it to something reminiscent of a Japanese swordsman film.  Are his thoughts on the title an actual clue to the tone and story of Episode VIII?  "It's got a real samurai [feel].  It's straightforward and minimalist, and I like that."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters on December 15, 2017.  The first trailer is expected to arrive this spring.

His Joker voice is so awesome. Man, how I wish they would bring back Batman the Animated Series. It was so perfect. It was kid friendly but not adult annoying.

Hamill's just happy he's getting paid again so he doesn't have to scrounge cigarette butts from the trash anymore.

I remember giving handies for two dollars in the 80s. Hard times. Now I can charge a respectable 10 dollars.
