2016 is about to come to an end. Here is the definite ranking of comic book movies from this year from worst to best!

7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Well what left is there to say about this so-called movie? It was a disappointment right from the start. Not only that, but it was just a bad film. Pretty much everything was wrong with it. Bad direction, dull characters, awful villains, Riddler "Lex", cave troll Doomsday, bad acting, terrible cgi, etc. Don't even let me get started on that "Martha" scene. I hate this movie with a passion. No wonder it was a flop. The only good thing about BvS was Gal Gagot's Wonder Woman. 4/10

6. X-Men: Apocalypse

After the great movies First Class and Days of Future Past, I was quite looking forward to the third and last film of this new X-Men trilogy. I was disappointed to say the very least. The whole movie was just plain generic, dull and forgettable. Another "end-of-the-world" blockbuster that we have seen done to death millions of times before. The villain was pretty bad and looked bad too. Only things I liked about this movie was Quicksilver's mansion scene and the new Jean Grey. This series is in desperate need of a new sense of direction or a new path. 5/10

5. Doctor Strange

This movie had such breathtaking visuals and showed us a new frontier to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apart from the visuals...there isn't much Doctor Strange offers. It has a very generic story in which I finally started to notice the Marvel Formula. Nothing wrong with that, but I just wanted more. Though the third act was so well-done and refreshing. Perhaps one of the best third acts in the entire MCU. 8/10

4. Suicide Squad

I don't care what anyone else says. I really liked this movie. Didn't love it, but I liked it for the most part. Perhaps the most underrated film of 2016 and the most underrated comic book movie ever. This movie was loads of fun and offered a fresh take to the DC Extended Universe. Suicide Squad gave us such fascinating characters who are a lot better than most of the characters Snyder has given us. Harley Quinn was so [frick]ing awesome and is literally just the best. She was so badass and fierce and fun. Some of the characters could have been used more and the third act could have been a lot better, but I liked Suicide Squad. Come at me haters. 8.5/10

3. Deadpool

Fun, fun, fun. Loads of it. Despite being an origin story, Deadpool really manages to be different and unique. That makes it refreshing to watch and sets it apart from say Doctor Strange. Ryan Reynolds is just perfect and delievers his all in this movie. And Deadpool has perhaps the best romance in any comic book movie ever. I am very happy the film itself was such a huge hit. Hopefully Fox doesn't mess up the sequel. Deadpool and Harley Quinn crossover anyone? 9/10

2. Captain America: Civil War

What more can I say? I [frick]ing LOVED Civil War. It is nothing short of a true masterpiece. "The Empire Strikes Back" of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Such emotional intensity and pure rawness. There were actual stakes and consequences. And dat airport scene was pure bliss. For the first time in forever...Spider-Man in the MCU!  Zemo was such an excellant villain and he actually succeeded in his brilliant plan. He did what Loki and Ultron failed to do: he split up the Avengers. Marvel's magnum opus. The Russos deliever yet again. 10/10

1. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Bravo Disney and Lucasfilm. They have given us the best Star Wars prequel ever made. The stakes were so high. Everything fit together with the beginning of A New Hope. Darth Vader proved why he is the best villain in cinematic history. The third act was so emotional and daring. Talented Oscar-nominee Felicity Jones was so amazing as Jyn Erso and the beautiful Diego Luna was great as Cassian. I very much look forward to future Star Wars movies. 10/10

I get it how you can debunk BvS. People around here tend to get the Shoulda Woulda Coulda Blues so they fail to see a film for what it is instead of seeing it for what it should or could be. But I just don't see how you can rank Suicide Squad above Batman vs Superman (especially the U.E. edition).

I appreciate the film for what it is, but the mere premise of the story just doesn't scream any of Ostrander's sociopolitical messages delved with the Squad stories. It was just a watered down end-of-the-world story with a bunch of anti-heroes.

The Squad that I know wouldn't save the world. They would rather watch it burn.
