Pusher: The most dangerous of all agents, these individuals can "push" specific thoughts, memories and even emotions into their targets.

Mover: Can manipulate inanimate objects at varying distances. Advanced movers can work at a molecular level creating protective shields in the air around them.

Watcher: Trained to self-induce visions of the future that include both images and sounds, like a prolonged sense of deja vu. Trained Watchers visions can extend hours or days into the future.

Stitch: Stitches are psychic surgeons, healers trained to quickly reconstruct cells to their previous or healthy state.

Bleeder: Unique to the Chinese government, Bleeders are trained solely for assassination purposes. They can emit high-pitched sonic vibrations that cause ruptures in a targets blood vessels.

Sniff: Highly developed clairvoyants who can track the location of either people or objects over varying distances.

Shadow: These individuals can temporarily shift patterns of light on any object to create illusions to the naked eye.

Wiper: Skilled at either temporary or permanent memory erasure, an invaluable asset in espionage.

this movie looks ok. it kind of rehashes the idea of practically every marvel comic.

but nonetheless, i'm still going to go see it :D

and wow, look at Dakota. Next thing you know she'll be 18 and topless in an american pie movie. :P

j/k i hope not.

she's too good to lower herself to something like that.

The more I read about this movie, the less it sounds appealing to me.
I mean, the concept of a group of individuals with distinct pyshic abilitites, used as guinea pigs and hunted by the government... It's been done over and over again. And now, instead of making something really intruiging (like "Suspect Zero"), they dumb it down and cast a bunch of baby faced actors.
Now it looks like they've dropped the "dumb-down" another level and replaced the actual clinical names of these extra sensory abilities, because God forbid we have to use our measley little brains while we're in the movie theaters!

Word to Adamant about the dumbing down bit. But eh, it doesn't look completely terrible. Djimon Honsou is cool.

So wat these people are...wait i mean...they can't sum up an entire type of superpowered human into a single category, where is the in between?, if there are so little powers overall this'll suck...
gd cast though lol

Why has no one mentioned that those names for the power categories are really really bad....

I mean, I see some of those superpowered people meeting... so who are you? I'm John doe, I'm a Sniff..... after that there would be an awkard silence and I'd ask... what do you sniff?

Sniff.... I mean is that for real? Stitch? Bleeder? Wiper (somehow I picture them at stop lights wipping the windshields of expensive cars for spare change)?

I don't know what to think about this movie. On one hand, we have powerful actors like Dakota Fanning and Djimon Hounsou, 2 people who always deliver in a performance. I am psyched to see Fanning in action, as its been a while since i've seen her in anything. On the other hand, there is this insultingly simplistic article listing the different types of psychic powers. To quote NoobMike, "I'm a Sniff.","So... what do u sniff." It seems like they took all the psychic aspects of Jean Grey or Xavier, and split their power between 8 archetypes.

Whats up with all the "Wow...Dakota's grown-up" comments? Is it me, or is that kinda creepy?

NoobMike - 1/6/2009, 11:03 AM
no, it was just... she'll be 18 and topless in an american pie movie.

Anyway, that girl really needs a shot at a normal life. I will say it again, she needs to retire until she's at least 18, damn child star parents, not only is she working really hard hours (look at any filming schedule), but she's working non stop.

Kudos to Adamant. Camilla Belle is a babe though! May be worth watching her scenes on the DVD... :-)

camilla is hot...we all remember her on 10,000 BC movie...just acting no scripts...

i guess there is a difference between saying...

"WOW! Dakota's grown up" and "WOW! Miley Cyrus just grown up"...

well logan x, some people actually enjoy good performances along with ther explosions..i know its a crazy idea isnt it?
TheMyth
TheMyth - 1/7/2009, 11:00 AM
Logan... you lost me at Kirsten Dunce. I mean Dunst. No I don't, its Dunce. And not everybody in X-Men has telekinesis. Do you even read the comics? In all of X-Men history there have only been 4 telekinetics on the team.

Everyone is saying it's gonna be "ok" but I think it'll be great because it's not based of off anything. I'm sure it was influenced by comic book movies or something but it's really good cuz you don't see anyone in costumes and it feels much more realistic if people actually psychic powers like this. Personally, I'd like to be a Mover!

I can't wait to see this movie!
