This article just broke over at i09.com with an interview of the director of the film Push, Paul McGuigan. In it he is asked wether or not his new film Push, which is due in theaters Feb 6, has any similarities with Edward Norton's The Incredible Hulk. Paul McGuigan's direct response was "The Incredible Hulk was a piece of shit," he states. Paul compared the CG-heavy giant fight scene at the end to a Tom And Jerry cartoon. Paul McGuigan also ads that Push is not from a comic book but there is a spin off comic coming out soon.
Wow. That's pretty hefty words coming from a Director that needs the support of the comic book fan community for his upcoming film Push. Lets see Paul McGuigan's last movie that came out was Lucky Number Slevin back in 2006. That film made a total worldwide gross of a whole whopping $56,308,881. The Incredible Hulk came out in 2008 and made a total worldwide gross of $263,349,257. No Paul inflation is not the reason here. Let's go back to Paul McGuigan's initial comment "The Incredible Hulk was a piece of shit," Compared to what? Paul's last movie? Or Push?? I have seen the trailer for Push. It kinda looks cool, but it also kinda looks like a rip off of some week young jedi that only have the ability to Push. Time will tell, but it looks like this director is counting his chickens way before they are hatched.
Paul McGuigan goes on to say that he was involved in making a Deathlok movie, but Marvel has since scrapped the project. I'm pretty sure Paul's above statement was the reason Marvel scrapped Paul.

Update: Looks like I was right. This poor excuse for an original film after being out in Theaters for 3 weeks clocked in a measley worldwide gross of $22,078,246. Thats right folks this movie didnt even make its money back to cover marketing costs.
