Is Billie Lourd Playing A Young Princess Leia In STAR WARS: EPISODE VII?

We had heard that Carrie Fisher's daughter was to make an appearance in J.J. Abrams' currently shooting Star Wars movie, but no info was provided on what role she'd play. Well, if the following report is accurate, Episode VII will feature flashbacks. More past the jump.

The Daily Mail reckon they've confirmed that Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd has been cast in Disney’s Star Wars: Episode VII, and add that she'll actually play a younger version of her mother's iconic character from the original trilogy, Princess Leia Organa/Skywalker. Apparently director J.J. Abrams chose Lourd for the role "because of their visual similarities". We'll have to take this as a rumor for now of course, but it does make a certain amount of sense. Lourd has no acting experience, so she's likely been cast for a very specific reason..and I can't think of a better one than playing young Leia in flashbacks. Do you buy it? Sound off below.
