STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI - Rian Johnson Confirms Changes To The Opening Fanfare
The Last Jedi continues to create buzz, with some praising it for taking risks and making changes, and others lambasting it for poor choices. Now, we have confirmation on a change that keeps to tradition.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi has yet to arrive on blu-ray but the film is available on digital formats, which includes a commentary track with Rian Johnson. While, many interesting details from the commentary track have been noted, one detail hasn’t got a lot of attention. In the commentary track, Rian Johnson reveals that the fanfare that plays along with the film’s opening crawl is actually different from the one heard in A New Hope. While clearly similar to the iconic music we all know, Rian Johnson reveals this is actually something that’s occurred in all Star Wars film that feature this fanfare:
“If you listen to all the movies every single one of them has a slightly different take on the mix of the fanfare. Some are brighter, some are warmer, The Force Awakens one has a lot of kind of sharper tack to it. We went with kind of like a warmer type feel.”
This is all actually quite surprising as most seem unaware of the different fanfare used in each film. So, what do you folks think? Did any of you notice any of the small changes? Do you care about this fact? Whatever your thoughts, make sure to comment below.
