Millie Bobby Brown is, without a doubt, Stranger Things' breakout star, but could a trip to a Galaxy Far, Far Away be next for the young star? The Netflix series is nearing its end, and while the actor is also part of the streamer's popular Enola Holmes franchise, there's a lot of interest in seeing what Brown does next (especially as she heads into adulthood).
According to a rumour shared by Mirror Online (via SFFGazette.com), it's said that Brown is currently in talks with Disney to join a future Star Wars project.
We'd take all of this with a pinch of salt, but the site claims that both Millie and her father/manager, Robert, are on friendly terms with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. The studio is said to be so keen on securing Brown's talents that she may be eyeing a massive $15 million payday for whatever this mystery role ends up being.
"Millie is on Disney’s radar for the new Star Wars projects," this supposed source tells the site. "She’s had contact with Kathleen, who is aware of her desire to feature in a movie or play a central role in one of the new TV projects for Disney +. Executives know just how much of an icon she is already for the 10 to 30-year-old audience and what that brings in terms of appeal."
"And she doesn’t need to audition - it’s more a case of how the director and her bond," they continue. "She has the gravitas to hold down the lead for that universe."
There's no denying that Brown would be an asset to the Star Wars franchise both in terms of her talent and popularity. This definitely feels like one of those rumours that have little basis in reality, though we'd be shocked if major studios aren't keeping their eye on the actor and ready to snap her up once Stranger Things comes to an end and her schedule is freed up.
We'll see if she ends up joining this iconic Galaxy, but we're sure sci-fi fans would welcome Brown with open arms if Star Wars is indeed on the horizon for her.
