Visual effects have advanced to the point where the Spider-Man costume can now be brought to life on screen without a physical suit. The Iron Spider, for example, is fully CG, meaning star Tom Holland only has to don motion-capture gear in order to leap into action as the web-slinger.
Recently, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star appeared on BBC's The Graham Norton Show and told the host the lengths he had to go to in order to have a drink while he is suited up in Spidey's iconic costume.
"[With the suit on, I can eat] some things," Holland explained (via Screen Rant). "Essentially they put - so the eyes pop out...and there used to be these fans. I remember them bragging about they added in these fans that you could click and it would supposedly cool me down. They worked once. I have these hot batteries in my helmet that I put my head on."
"But there’s a hole underneath the eye socket where we used to be able to feed a tube down and I could drink without taking the suit off," he added, "because it takes a lot of time."
It's no wonder Holland is looking to potentially take some time off from playing Spider-Man as it's clearly not an easy job! He's also been suiting up as the iconic Marvel superhero since 2015, though we're sure the door isn't going to be permanently closed on him playing the MCU's Peter Parker (after all, we recently learned that another trilogy of Spider-Man movies is on the way).
Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.
