We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp. Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014!

If Garfield does leave after TA3, maybe he would be still willing to provide the voice for Spidey in SS? A stunt actor could do all the work on set.

His "Avengers with villain" line will probably be negatively received to some on here, but I really like the sound of it.
Just the idea of seeing a film with that sort of dynamic.
Plus Andrew Garfield isn't part of the studio flame war on these comment sections, so he's really just using an example of a super hero team up film.

I really hope they find a way to do it so we find ourselves almost rooting for the Sinister 6.

BTW, is there a clause in Sonys contract that Spider-Man has to stay in NYC? Yes he lives there but even Batman went to China. My visual palette is over saturated with images of Spidey flying around NYC. I want something different.

@joe With as much hate as Marvel has had for their recent comics, I really prefer the most recent version of the Thunderbolts. If Marvel can get Hurt to reprise his role as Ross/Rulk in a Netflix series with an Elektra (spunoff of the Daredevil series) and a rebooted Punisher, that would be so much win. It sucks they can't use Venom or Deadpool though. But including The Leader and maybe using Justin Hammer as a financial/technological backer would be sooooooo cool.

That's cool, I don't think there is a CBM coming out that I don't want to see. Well..except Fantastic Four. I hope the Venom movie works out!

I could be wrong, but I feel this is a miss-fire. I really believe they should focus energy on Spidey-stories and avoid the villain spin-offs.

I think this movie's look is really spot-on. That said, I get a definite "MCU Catch-up" vibe from the whole thing. The early reviews make it sound like it's a rush job that has good moments, but really doesn't cohere.

If only this movie existed in the MCU and the end game was the Avengers and not this half-assed Sinister Six spin-off, we might have something special.

As is, I'll be looking forward to the reboot when (god willing) the rights revert to Marvel.

judging by the "animals" nature that the Sinister Six is heading towards, I hope they put Kraven in the Sinister Six movie, they are going to need an enemy, and if Spidey is only on "the fringes" Kraven would be quite cool, wanting to hunt all these animal freaks.

I love the Sinister Six idea. I wish Feige had thought of an anti-Avengers movie centered upon Baron Zemo and Masters of Evil. The Masters are formed by Zemo and HYDRA the way Fury and SHIELD went about implementing the Avengers Initiative.
