A special Spider-Man: Homecoming event recently took place in Japan and as well as new footage being shown off from the movie, a number of props were also put on display. As you can see below, among them was The Daily Bugle, something which finally confirms that this newspaper exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For obvious reasons, it's never been mentioned before now, but this changes things. With any luck, this also means J. Jonah Jameson is now coming in the sequel!
This Bugle makes no mention of Spider-Man being a menace, but we do see a mention of the UN attack from Captain America: Civil War, an alleged chihuahua ring and a hoax involving the Washington Monument, a location the wall-crawler will be getting familiar with in the upcoming reboot.
It remains to be seen whether The Daily Bugle will be used as more than an Easter Egg here, but the Spider-Man: Homecoming franchise will follow The Amazing Spider-Man in the respect that Jonah and Peter Parker's work as a freelance photographer is being kept on the shelf for the time being.
