If you watched Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters this weekend, chances are you might have struggled to understand at least some of the sequel's dialogue.
Social media is full of complaints about the score drowning out what the characters are saying, with the prologue revolving around Spider-Gwen proving particularly difficult to follow. It's unclear whether the creative team tried a mix which hasn't translated well to theaters or if there are other issues at play, but writer and producer Phil Lord has now weighed in (via Toonado.com).
He seems to believe that the problem is with theaters themselves not playing Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at the correct volume level. In fact, he's even created stickers to send out to projectionists, so fingers crossed that this problem is resolved in time for the blockbuster's second weekend in multiplexes.
"A contender for the best Spider-Man film yet and easily the greatest animated movie ever made," we said in our review, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a jaw-dropping spectacle, a feast for the senses, and an instant Marvel classic."
