Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still shooting in Glasgow, Scotland, and there's a lot of misinformation out there. For example, shortly after it was said that filming now wraps up this week, there are conflicting reports insisting that work will continue until the end of August.
Who's right? It's hard to say, and the latest chatter from set is that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has been spotted alongside Spider-Man...and we have the photo to prove it. Well, maybe. Probably not, though.
The shot below is getting a lot of attention on social media, with several different fan pages claiming it's Sink in a blonde wig. This looks more like a random crew member to us (some have pointed out that she's carrying sound equipment, but the low quality of the image makes it hard to say).
Still, as the chase sequence we've seen so much of now looks to be over at this point in the sequence, Spidey may indeed be interacting with whoever Sink is playing.
The blonde hair lends weight to the rumours and theories that Sink has been cast as the MCU's Gwen Stacy, anyway, and the actor is confirmed to be in Scotland to shoot scenes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Ultimately, this probably isn't Sink, and the intrigue surrounding her role in the movie is likely to only increase this level of wild speculation as fans clamber for any sort of first look. In recent weeks, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has shot on location in Glasgow and near London, but production may move to soundstages after this, so who knows how much more we'll see.
Check out the image below and let us know whether you think this is Sink or not in the comments section.
It's not much to go on, we know, so enjoy these spectacular new shots from the movie's set in the Instagram posts below.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day shares a title with a controversial era of storytelling, which, thanks to a deal with Mephisto, saw the wall-crawler get a fresh start when his marriage to Mary Jane Watson ended and his identity became secret again. He faced many new sinister foes during that time and was surrounded by an overhauled supporting cast, including a resurrected Harry Osborn.
Mister Negative, Jackpot, Menace, and Carlie Cooper were some of the standout additions to his world, though they don't currently look set to appear in the movie. Instead, all signs point to Spidey teaming up with (and likely fighting) The Punisher to take on a Savage Hulk, with The Scorpion thrown in for good measure.
We recently published a feature about how the "Brand New Day" comics could influence the next Spider-Man movie, along with a breakdown of every villain rumoured to appear.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings helmer Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: Brand New Day from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland leads a cast that also includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
