Spider-Man was one of the best video games to come our way in 2018, and had it not been for
Red Dead Redemption 2, it would have quite possibly been
the best. Now, Hot Toys has unveiled its Scarlet Spider 1/6th scale collectible figure based on the costume's likeness in the game.
As you'll see in the gallery below, it's incredibly detailed and gives us an idea of what the Scarlet Spider would look like in a live-action setting (he'd fit right in in the Marvel Cinematic Universe).
There's still no word on when a Spider-Man sequel will be released, but it was a huge hit for Insomniac and Sony, so perhaps we'll get a tease of what's to come when the next E3 event rolls around.

Despite being a product of the controversial Clone Saga, Ben Reilly remains as popular as ever and so it's no wonder Hot Toys has chosen this alternate costume from the game to put the spotlight on.
The character has, of course, made a number of appearances in recent years and is actually alive and well after returning as a villain in The Clone Conspiracy. Like Kaine, though, he later redeemed himself.
Unfortunately, Ben doesn't have his own series right now but that may not be a bad thing after the way the last one wrapped up (a lot of fans weren't happy with Peter David's creative decisions).
Marvel Studios paid homage to this costume in
Spider-Man: Homecoming with Peter Parker's homemade suit but it's hard to say whether the concept of clones will ever be introduced in the MCU.
The Jackal would certainly be a fun choice of villain and a movie pitting Spider-Man against Spider-Man would no doubt generate a lot of buzz, especially if Tom Holland were to pull double duty.
Now that Marvel Studios has used time-travel in
Avengers: Endgame, there's really no reason to dismiss clones as being too far-fetched but right now, rumours point to the Sinister Six's arrival.
Going back to the
Spider-Man video game, it really was something special and Xbox fans are still hoping and praying it will eventually arrive on that console. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely right now.
Marvel's Avengers will be released on both consoles, of course, but there's nowhere near as much positive buzz surrounding that game as there was
Spider-Man and some have already dismissed it.
Unlocking the alternate costumes in the game was a great deal of fun and getting to use this one was definitely a bonus and it looked incredible in action. This figure adapts it pretty perfectly.
Hot Toys previously released a Spider-Punk action figure and the newly designed main costume (some fans loved the white spider logo and others hated it but it did look very cool in action).
In the comics, the Scarlet Spider suit isn't particularly detailed but this version does a great job of bringing it into the real world. The way those pouches have been incorporated is really clever too.
As for the hoodie, it's a nice touch having Spidey paint that on, while the red costume underneath is clearly a spandex material similar to what he would wear for his regular Spider-Man suit.
There's currently no word on a Spider-Man sequel but you have to believe one is in the early stages of development, especially after the first game generated great reviews and some huge sales.
Now that Insomniac has a readily designed New York City, that should speed up development on the sequel in a big way. It will need to be improved and polished to not feel like a retread, of course.
They also need to come up with a new story but if the post-credits scene was any indication, that could revolve around the Green Goblin and possibly even a man-made Venom symbiote.
Either way, we hopefully won't be waiting too long for a
Spider-Man sequel to be released because it was easily the best game to feature the wall-crawler to date and was downright amazing.
There were so many costumes to unlock in the first game, it will be interesting seeing where Insomniac turns next. Perhaps we'll get to finally play as Venom or even something as crazy as Spider-Ham!
The 1/6th scale collectible figure features a newly developed masked head, a newly developed body, and a skillfully tailored sleeveless hoodie with detailed Spider-print on both sides.
He obviously has a utility belt and Web-Shooters, along with interchangeable hands for different postures and a stylishly designed figure stand! All of that adds up to being a spectacular package!
That's not all, though, because you'll also get a camera, a pizza, a donut, a drink and a cell phone, and a variety of web accessories. I don't remember a donut in the game but it's a pretty funny touch.
