The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. Now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

If the head was smaller, actually, it'd be much better.

You guys are [frick]ing retarded if you think this shit is better than the Lizard in the movie.

Can't say that I liked the final product in the film, but that model in the 6th pic looks cool.

They could have done that version of the Lizard for real, so dumb that they didn't.

Everytime they post a concept art of any movie. Some idiots always say it's better than what we got in the final results even though it's NOT.

Are you guys crazy or just want to troll ?

That lizard looks ugly in that pic. GET REAL GUYS !!!

I think they should've had him evolve more into a lizard with each dose he was taking.

At least you got this gay wanna-be villain in a movie. [frick] him and [frick] his nonsense motives, which were what again? He wanted to turn everyone into lizard people?
Lizard is never even gonna be able to compete with likes of Loki, Dr. Doom, Green Goblin or Doc Ock

After seeing Smaug, so much for that bullshit about a snout being a problem when it comes to speaking.

Shortsighted Webb.

When I heard the Lizard was going to be in TASM, this was what I was expecting:

Calling the final product a disappointment is an understatement. One of the most poorly designed villains ever put to film.

@NeoBaggins- I agree. Thinking about it now, TASM would have been a better movie had Smaug been in it.
NovaCorpsFan
NovaCorpsFan - 12/26/2013, 7:02 PM
Right, I'm takin' a good look at that thing. Slim the neck. Make the head smaller. Take away those, uh... wings under the arms. Give it a slightly shorter snout and a less slim lower body.

I think it might've looked better than what was in the film.

I didn't mind the design of the movie, but it wasn't the Lizard I was expecting. That first pic (with my alterations) is what I would've preferred to see in the film.

I like the idea of the mutation getting worse with every dose. That'd've been pretty decent.

Also, the Lizard shouldn't really look all that human. He did at first, of course, but now he:s a heckuva lot more lizard-like.

I'd've loved to hear him hiss. I know he did in the film, but properly. Tongue quivering 'n' all.

Did Rhys do mo-cap for the Lizard's face? Because when he speaks in lizard form, the speech seems off.

The goomba look was made by a tard for tards....

Smuag is a perfect example of how a lizards mouth can talk while be scary as [frick]

TASM was a mess, and the Lizard was the worst part of it.
@Neo, agreed 100%! Well put.

NovaCorpsFan - 12/26/2013, 7:32 PM
You don't really even know if the spider is genetically altered. I mean you assume so, but it wasn't explained at all. They were just spiders in a dark room.
Ocelot
Ocelot - 12/26/2013, 7:50 PM
Even though The Lizard looked comical, I can understand why they went with the goomba design, obviously wanted him to emote and for the talking to not look weird. The transformation however should have gone through stages like in The Fly and ended with the more overtly lizard type look. The lizard could have been the goomba design until the later stages of third act where he becomes even more monsterous and loses any humanity that he had left.
