Marvel Head Jeph Loeb Is Happy With SUICIDE SQUAD's Success; Talks Marvel VS DC

Suicide Squad got a hard time by the critics, but it's nothing sort of a success where box office is concerned. Taking in a massive opening week  when it was released. While it may experience a large drop like Dawn of Justice did back in in March, it's still the Summer's biggest movie. Marvel TV head, Jeph Loeb, was asked about Suicide Squad  by the Hollywood Reporter and he had this to say.

"The DC characters which I know and I love and have had a lot of fun writing and being a part of are really strong, wonderful characters," he says. "And I think it's a little early for us to determine the success of Suicide Squad. At the moment, I'm very happy that it's opened to $150 million, that is an accomplishment. We'll see what happens afterwards".

When he was asked about the Marvel VS DC argument, he said this: "No. It's funny, we actually get asked that a lot," Loeb told THR  "The truth is, they do what they do and we do what we do. I tend to sort of think about it like I'm not sure that people that make medical shows look at other medical shows and go, 'Why is my medical show better than this?".

What do you think of Loeb's comments, did you like Suicide Squad or not? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Suicide Squad is currently in cinemas.
Figuring they're all expendable, a U.S. intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own.

Of course he's happy his direct competition is doing nothing but reinforcing his brand by screwing up iconic characters.

That's great, and what he said about the movies success is true. I do hope that the movie gets just enough money to break even, so that WB will learn not to completely butcher and mess with the directors vision and product.

So at the end he basicaly said "Why is our movies better than theirs?".

Like, they are better, they just don't really think about it.
