We all know the chances of seeing Disney and Warner Bros. join forces to develop a Marvel/DC team-up movie are about as likely as Lucasfilm deciding to remake the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but that doesn't mean the idea hasn't been discussed.
As the director of both the Guardians and the Galaxy movies and The Suicide Squad, James Gunn has had the rare opportunity to helm major projects at both studios, and the filmmaker has now revealed that he has actually "casually spoken to the powers-that-be" about a potential crossover.
Gunn responded to a fan with the following Tweet, and while he doesn't believe it's something that will ever seriously be considered, he doesn't seem to feel it's outside the realm of possibility, either.
The notion of a Marvel/DC crossover really would have been wishful thinking a few years ago, and while it is still highly unlikely, the fact that both the MCU and DC Films Universe are now beginning to explore their respective Multiverses does open the door to at least some extent. It is certainly interesting that Gunn wasn't met with a straight-up "never gonna happen," at least.
What do you guys think? Is a Marvel/DC movie even something you'd want to see, or would it do a disservice to both universes? Let us know in the comments section.
