From vampire with a soul to last son of Krypton? Angel star David Boreanaz has reportedly tested for the role of Superman, after losing out on the part of the Thing in the Fantastic Four movie (to The Shield's Michael Chiklis). Rumor has it Superman director Bryan Singer liked Boreanaz for the role.

At one point, Boreanaz was the fan favorite for playing Batman, since his Angel character so closely resembled the Dark Knight Detective in theme and methodology.
