FAN-ticizing: My Ideas I would like Introduced in the 2012 Superman Reboot.

Will these ideas be in the new Superman film?

1. Introduce STAR Labs.
2. Along with STAR Labs, introduce the suit that protects Superman from Kryptonite among other harmful things to him.
3. Get rid of the Cape. As Edna Mode explained in the Incredibles, capes can get in the way, and we've never seen what supes could do without a cape, perhaps make him faster when he fights. My idea of the suit would be more sleek, and not include the red underwear, make the suit a dark navy blue with red pads from his shoulders to his neck, with an S shield going from his shoulders down to his abdomin region, and keep the red boots and red cuffs.
4. NO LEX LUTHOR!!! Lex has been in every Superman film except for Superman 3, and in almost every film(Superman 1, 2 and Superman Returns), he has been like "Hey I got a real estate scam!" you know and that can get old and stale with a same villain and thats what I believe helped ruin Superman Returns. Perhaps for the Reboot I could see a Braniac, Parasite, Livewire, but I have my fingers crossed for Darkseid somehow.
5. Keep the JOHN WILLIAMS score! It is the most inspirational music I have ever heard, and to keep it would be honoring not only the start of Superman, but the apple pie of America.
6. Superman throwing a punch!!
7. Get Smallville to play a big role in the film somehow at the beginning or at the end in a final battle.
8. Let's throw Jimmy Olsen in an action sequence.
9. Show Superman and Lois Lane getting it on.
10. Reference Gotham City in some form, I dont care which form.

Comment below and tell me what you think of these ideas and how they could improve and if you think they could work in the new film!

Well Goyer and Nolan stated they were going with a darker tone with the film so I have a feeling it will be more adult themed, also because Zack Snyder will be directing the film. And here is kind of the design for the suit that I had:

Well seeing as how the GL movie is already going to be out, lets see a reference to the GL somehow!
comicbookfreak

Well they said they were going with a darker spin on it, and to me that would include sex. And the underwear just makes Superman look a little different these days, so I figure a new type of suit (keep the same basic concept) and just kind of revamp it would be a good idea.

comicbookfreak - 1/22/2011, 2:56 PM
Thats another problem i had. Snyder said he wants to go with a CGI suit like GL< which I feel would ruin the movie.

The CGI suit was just a rumor but my heart will be absolutely broken if they do a completely CGI suit. Yes, they did CGI for some of the suit in Returns, but at least they used a real suit. Sucker Punch looks terrible and I really am not a huge fan of Snyder. Superman isn't supposed to be dark, minus Doomsday, and Returns was even too dark for Superman, so wtf. Also, a 2012 release date? Come on, how bad do all of these elements sound: rush 2011 production, rush 2012 release, dark Superman, CGI suit, rush script, who to cast, which villains (Lex?), where to film, Zack Snyder, STILL UNCERTAIN. Aweful and I feel my heart is going to be crushed again because Warner Bros waited til the last minute to do this.

They never said they were doing a dark take and they never said they were doing a CG suit.

comicbookfreak - 1/22/2011, 6:20 PM
They think that every hero has to be a dark take now because of Batman and thats the "only way it will be successful" but I mean I dont neccessarily like the ideas I put in the article but they Intrigued me about the direction they could go with the reboot, and keep it somewhat lighter the way it should be, without introducing doomsday, or anything that could ACTUALLY kill Superman in the film.

1. Introduce STAR Labs only if it's critical to the story, other than that it's an easter egg.
2. GDSuperman is right, leave kryptonite alone. It seems like everyone has a little kryptonite in their back pocket these days.
3.You've been drinking the bong water if you think the suit should be butchered like that.
4. Lex Luthor can be in the movie and not be played by anybody. Leave him as a headline or a flyby of LutherCorp.
5. Get over the John Williams music already!! Move on.
6. More than just one punch. Let's have an actual fight scene and keep it simple, no need for fancy martial arts.
7. Meh, I could care less either way.
8. That's interesting, what would you have Jimmy Olsen do? I think they can do more with the character, but let's not go overboard.
9. That has no place in a family movie. Leave that to your twisted imagination.
10. Why bother?

a new superman is not a bad idea. maybe with a little more edge instead of the boy scout he is. to bring a darker element to the story is not a bad idea either just bring in darkside to the story
