So “Eternal” was all about Davis and his origin story. We get to go all the way back to the pilot to see that there were indeed two boys that fell to earth. While Clark was taken in by the ever loving awesome Kents, Davis was taken by some men that were employed by the ever EVIL Lionel Luthor. Then he was tested and poked and all sorts of good stuff until Lionel found out he wasn’t all that special. (Boy was he wrong!) And he threw his ass out in the street. Fast Forward to now and we have Tess rambling to Clark about how his is special and how he isn’t the only boy who fell from the sky and Clark is just looking at her like she has three heads. Of course the whole time he is thinking who could this other boy be. Anyway so Tess kidnaps Davis after she tries to blow his ass up and surprise surprise he heals up in 2 days. She also happens to inform him that Clark is the reason he is the way he is. And that Clark is the other Kryptonian. So now Davis is all in a tizzy and goes looking for Chloe to tell her he loves her and needs her help. Of course this is after Clark and Chloe found his busted up jeep and the field o dead people. So naturally Chloe is freaked out and tells him to get lost but he refuses and convinces her to help him kill himself with KRYPTONITE!!

So they go to this place where Davis can take a Krypto-bath and at the last second Clark shows up. First thing that surprised me is that he sped in right in front of Davis and then he freely admits to Davis that he is a Kryptonian. WTF! Anyway Davis starts to freak out and Chloe flips the switch to protect Clark. And so sad too bad Davis dies…..or does he. At the end Chloe is at the Talon and she wonders down the basement when she hears something fishy and finds that Davis is alive and kicking. He then proceeds to tell her that the Krypto-bath only made him stronger and he won’t hurt Clark if she stays with him because his love for her calms the beast within him. So just when you think Chloe is gonna haul ass up the steps to leave and get Clark, she locks the basement door from the inside (why the lock is on the inside who knows) and she walks back down to Davis. Crazy Biotch! This is of course setting Chloe up for her ultimate demise. All in all it felt as though they really rushed the Davis/Clark story to fit all in one episode. I think they could have used all the time they spent on Jimmy/Chloe to flesh this story out a bit more. But all in all I liked the episode. I’m not so sure about “Stilleto”, I have a feeling it’s gonna be a filler episode. Let me know what you thought about “Eternal”

I have to agree this season has been phenomenal thus far and gives me great hope for seasons 9 and hopefully ten. I really truly do believe that as much teasing as the new creative team has done for Clark taking flight that we will get to see him fly in the next season. Although that could just be me fan boy delusions kicking in. :)

I find it funny how people complain about this show yet they keep wanting more seasons of it

I agree with you supermike, if the show were really that bad then it wouldnt have lasted this long, television networks are not known for being charitable, I would love it if there were another episode featuring the justice league, correct me if I'm wrong but it has been said that the highest rated episode ever was called ''justice'' featuring members of the league.

We keep watching because despite it's flaws, it just keeps getting better. There's probably never been a live TV show for a major comic character done to these standards, even if they aren't perfect.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that they managed to keep the show's quality where it is, despite the loss of it's main antagonist. Losing Rosenbaum as Lex should have been devastating. Instead, they managed to keep it interesting.

I'm a little annoyed at the chloe/davis thing. I think it undermines her character's strength and judgment. Believing davis over jimmy was a surprise. But it seems that since then, she's being held to task for it and with the latest episode, she knows that she F*&%ed up. And people do F*&% up occasionally. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will work itself out and that the doomsday arc finishes in a well written way, making it worth the wait as a finale.

I also look forward to Rosenbaum growing the balls to return as Lex, shave that head and finish the story the way it should have ended :P But that's probably MY fanboy delusions kicking in. He was just too damn good to not let the character's story finish the right way.

Stilleto will totally be filler, with like, 10% being super important arc moving material... But isn't that just the way :P At least it's consistant. 3-4 episodes like this, just to keep us crying.

These episodes always remind me of the old 50's covers for superman. "Jimmy gets powers for a day" "Lois and clark get married!!" "Superman, killed by a pizza?!? Find out!"

Ridiculous, but entertaining. Except for the gum commercial episode smallville did. That was vile. Really vile. :)

Yeah I agree tonights Stilleto will be mostly filler but will more than likely move along the Lois & Clark love angle.

And we were right! Mostly silly, but what a great d@mn ending. I love that these new writers are pushing his character to do things like this more often. He's really starting to do good things for people that don't include saving them.

Also, Jimmy on drugs? WTF? Is this going to turn into an after-school special? It seems unnecessary. Maybe it will make sense later. The preview for the next episode looked like it was going to be frustrating to watch.

This chloe/davis thing seems out of character for her, so illogical. Like, what does she expect to do, hide davis away until he dies of old age? The two will meet and fight eventually (by my guess, soon). What does she think she's doing, feeding the bastard lasagna and gangsters? Then again, maybe I'm just jealous, wishing she'd keep ME in her basement.
