Those who are planning on attending WonderCon this year are in for a nice surprise. It has just been announced that the Con will have the world premiere of DC's next animated Superman movie, Superman: Unbound. Check out the full press release below.

WonderCon Anaheim 2013 presents the exclusive world premiere of the DC Universe Animated Movie Superman: Unbound! A destructive force is devastating planets across the galaxy—with Earth next in its sights—and even Superman may not be capable of halting the destruction alone in Superman: Unbound, the next entry in the ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Based on the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank 2008 release Superman: Brainiac, the film’s stellar voicecast is led by Matt Bomer (White Collar) as Superman, John Noble (Fringe, The Lord of the Rings films) as Brainiac, Stana Katic (Castle) as Lois Lane, and Molly Quinn (Castle) as Supergirl. Supervising producer James Tucker (Justice League, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) also directs the film from a script by Bob Goodman (Warehouse 13, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns). Superman: Unbound is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand and For Download in late Spring 2013, but see it at WonderCon Anaheim first!

WonderCon hasn't release what time the premiere will be, but check their website for an official time and date. As stated in the release, the film will be made available for home release in late Spring. The movie stars Matt Bommer as Superman, Stana Katic as Lois Lane, Molly Quinn as Supergirl, and John Noble as Brainiac.

Hope we finally get a good Superman animated flick, Superman Doomsday and vs the Elite sucked donkey balls, and don't even remind me of All star, uuhhhgghh, so bad.

They might lose the undies after they do the Justice League: Flashpoint OAM.
FastestManAlive Superman- Doomsday rocked! Especially the Montgomery segment. That was brutal.
And Vs. The Elite was good for the fact that Superman says "Wanker" if nothing else. And it did have that punkrock Fleischer homage, in the intro.

Yeah, here's hoping the story is good. I liked Superman; Brainiac, but I'd like to see more unique stories. All Star is by far my favorite, but I understand Morrison isn't for everyone.

@ themanintheSMUGnessweat this movie is based on a specific story arc that happened before the New 52, DC in the past has tried to stay true to the art of the original comic. They have strayed quite a bit with this one but they should not change the suit just because it is changed in the New 52. When they do a New 52 story arc then I would expect them to lose the red trunks.. but until then... why is everyone so annoyed by them?

Supes looks like Nicholas Cage in that pic, but in the comics Gary Frank drawn him as Chris Reeve!

Oohh, I hope they do a Batman animated movie next after this.
Then another Superman.
Then another Batman.
Then, maybe, ..... another Superman.
Then another .... Ummm .... Bat...man......, possibly, but I hope they don't include any of the Robins or any other interesting hero to distract from him.
Then they could do another Superman/Batman.
Then, hopefully it is far enough after the live action Justice League that they could do a JL animated starring Batman and Superman.
Then, we can only pray, it is time for Superman to have another solo one.

I do love MOST of the DC animated movies. They are, afterall, the only movies DC/WB can seem to get right. I really hated All-Star Superman, but to be fair I hated the comic as well so that wasn't a big surprise to me. Superman vs the Elite was just OK. Not good by any stretch of the imagination, and Doomsday was quite possibly the worst bastardization of a story, AND animation they have given us yet! Truly bad! Other than that, (unless I'm forgetting some) all the rest have been top knotch! I'll judge this one after seeing it! They really DO need to focus on some new characters tho!

DKR part 2 is not that good, too many added elements make it suck, specially the fight scenes between supes and bats, they should have made it as a homage to the comics panels drawn by Frank like what the supes vs bats fight scene in Brave and the Bold cartoon did.

As much as I like Batman & Superman, DC needs to release animated movies of there other characters. There was talks of a Flash movie based on Flashpoint, wheres that? Another Wonder Woman movie would be cool or another Green Lantern film as good as 'First Flight', heck i'd even be keen for a Martian Manhunter of Aquaman movie! Bats and Supes are great but give us something different!

I enjoy these movies as well very much so. It makes me feel young to get stoked out and buy them. To lazy to watch online. Ah yeah. A few more days till Dark Knight Returns2 comes out . . . . . J J J yeahhhh

Supes vs the Elite. I give all these movies two thumbs up. My favorite is probably . . . all of them. Justice League two earths is pretty tight. All Star Superman, Wonder Woman, Gotham Knight which dropped before The live action The Dark Knight. So sick.
