When Warner Bros. announced their DC Films slate, they confirmed that a new standalone Superman movie was in the works. Since then, one of the trades has also said that it's happening, as has Henry Cavill's manager. Now, Amy Adams has also weighed in on the Man of Steel sequel, and while she admits in the video below that she found out about it like the rest of us, it sounds like it may already have a writer. Unfortunately, there have been no reports about who exactly will be responsible for it.
"I know they’re working on the script, and I know that it’s in the works," the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League star says in the video below. That's a pretty positive update, but with no writer, director, or release date, who knows when we'll get some solid news on the movie.
Chances are Warner Bros. is waiting to see how Justice League does. Should that prove to be a financial and critical hit, they'll no doubt want to put the spotlight back on Superman, but may also want to leave Zack Snyder at the helm of that particular franchise. That leaves the door open to someone else taking over, but we'll just have to wait and see for now. What do you hope is next for the hero?
