According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Crow remake producer Ed Pressman (Wallstreet, American Psycho)  has stated that all of the legal issues surrounding the remake appear to be settled and that the production is aiming to begin filming next Spring.  Pressman was further quoted as stating that "The Crow" is the "anti-Spider-Man" and that, "It still has a big fan base even though it was so long ago.  But the generation today doesn’t even know 'The Crow'."

Luke Evans Says THE CROW Reboot Is Not About Ripping Off The Brandon Lee Film

First proposed in 2008, The Crow reboot looks set to begin filming at some point in 2015. Luke Evans will star as the titular protagonist. It's rumored that Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) and Kristen Stewart (On The Road) are also up for parts. Francisco Javier Gutiérrez (Tres días) will direct the feature for Relativity Media. That original comic book was first published in 1989 by Caliber Comics. James. O'Barr stated that he wrote the comic as a way of dealing with the death of his girlfriend at the hands of a drunk driver. O'Barr is aboard the project as a creative consultant.

The original still holds up. It really captures the nightmarish hellscape of Detroit.

@MexicanSuperman

Yes, you need to see all of them. City of Angels, Salvation, and Wicked Prayer are all better than the original. I suggest you run out and buy them all today. You can thank me later.

They should just give it up.

The movie will not even come close to being better than the original.

Luke Evans performance won't come close to Brandon Lee.

I won't be surprised if they make it PG-13 and have none of the awesome 90's grit visuals and music that made the first movie so great.

They already losing, since they don't have this..

I know I'm being a grumpy fool, I just want to see this franchise rest in peace already.

The sequel is a alright watch. It's basically the same movie as the first (with some changes obviously) but less impressive.

The rest are absolute trash.

I thought he was already cast. That's kinda silly. Just cast him, he'd be great and bring a lot of gravitas to the role. I'm excited for this, the comic is great. I loved the movie but it left so much out.

The original Crow film is terrific. Brandon Lee would now be a household name & be starring in many great films if he had not died. He was great as The Crow as Luke Evans would be too..get it going!

does anyone have an accurate count of how many failed reboots the crow has had?
the original is immortal, and one of the best cbms to date.

The Crow is my guilty pleasure...because I dressed like Eric Draven in high school...I have destroyed most of the pictures, but there is evidence somewhere.

WHAT ?

NO !

Don't remake The Crow ! The original is good enough (like, REALLY GOOD), don't even touch it !

I'm not paying for this. That's obviously just te studio wanting to cash-in on the CBM trend, not because they had a good idea about a remake.

The problem with doing a remake now is that The Crow itself is soooooo 90's that a lot of what was cool in the original would be considered dated and cheesy now in a remake.

The original is one of my all-time favorites. The sequels were atrocious, so why not just leave this gem alone? Having O'Barr as a consultant at least should help.
